I have seen other topics, however, they are more talking about the Ionic. I'd like to see if anyone has actually gone swimming or showered (doubt the latter) with the Versa on and how did it fair?
I can see with the Ionic the states aren't super accurate however I am not too worried about the stats. I am more wondering about the device itself. Any issues or complications with it post swim or during the swim. I have only had mine a couple of days and have yet to get the guts to sink it.

I just recently got my second replacement and now the battery is dying after about 5 hours. I think there are some major issues with this product and it needs to be recalled so we can get our money back.

@Jnsneid, I would contact customer support, something is definitely wrong with your versa. You should get at least 4 days of battery life. When you contact customer support ask them if your versa was rebuilt or if it’s new.

I don't know, but it better cover water damage because otherwise that warranty is nonsense. Let us know if it did. It really should. Good luck!

If they are water proof for 50 m why aren’t they water resistant

I have now had two versas that have needed to be replaced do to condensation. you were supposed to be able to swim with them that is why I purchased the versa. I have decided to give up and get the apple watch that is water proof. The versa ended up being a big head ache and disappointment.

He did the same but they informed him he would not be able to purchase a new extended warranty because they are no longer offering it. They did not give him a reason why but my guess would be too many replacements. He now has the standard manufacture warranty, does anyone know if this covers water damage??
Best Buy uses the "Retail Equation" which limits you to 3 lifetime returns of anything purchased there. Warranty exchange your Versa, and 2 other unrelated items and you have used up all of your returns/exchanges.

So basically saying it is “swim proof “ is false and misleading advertisement. I tried to write something else but it was blocked. There will be action taken

There really isn’t anything that’s waterproof, resistant yes. The issue at hand is faulty seals on the versa’s, some are good, and a lot it would seem are not. Though even at rating of 5atm/bar aka 50m they’re really only good for swimming no more than say five-ten feet or so depending on the size of the pool of water you are in, as it pertains to water pressure. Definitely wouldn’t go swimming in the ocean either, the salt will definitely corrode the casing. Just remember if anything goes wrong, you can have it replaced by Fitbit.

They are not swimproof. I’m sure Fitbit is aware of that even though they claim it is. So what does that make them? Something needs to be done about this.

I swim 3 times a week with mine and have for months. It's just a case of some seals being bad. In fact the first thing I did when I got mine was jump in a pool to test the seal and luckily I had a good one, but some are not.

@Jnsneid, in your previous post you said that your replacement versa was not holding a charge. Did your versa also fail when you got it wet. How long did it take customer support to send you a replacement. Did you have any problems with customer support honoring your warranty. You have a 1 year warranty, I would keep contacting customer support and getting a replacement until you get one that is trouble free. Good luck

Does noone take into account that things expand when exposed to heat
Shower = Hot = Versa expands potentially creating small gaps around different elements of the device maybe buttons
Pool = Cold / Warm = Versa contracts meaning the seals will work as expected
So DONT shower with your versa if you dont want to risk damaging your device

@SMKEEN, you might want to check the technical specifications on the Apple Watch before you buy one. They are not waterproof. They are also water resistant.

I did I actually went to apple. It has a feature you use when in water that seals the watch so you can use it while in the water pool or ocean.

I agree that this false that the watch can be used while swimming, but the water resistant does not work States that the watch is swim proof - the only way to swim is in water

Fitbit needs to own up to the fact that some of these watches just have bad seals. I understand that defects happen in the manufacturing process, but why not just admit it? I've been lucky and I've been able to swim with mine with no problems so far. I think, just due to the luck of the draw, I got a good watch. The only way to tell if the seal is good is to take it in water, and for many customers that's a problem. It's always better to own up to a problem than to shift blame. I understand they have to vet people that complain, but they could do a better job of that.

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well. ![]()
I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for having shared your experience with us. Please note that as @Aclobos mentioned, the Fitbit Versa is swim-proof (up to 50 meters) and you can shower with it. However, please remember to dry it very well before putting it back on and follow our Wear & Care suggestions as well.
Now, when it comes to the warranty some of you mentioned, every Fitbit device comes a limited product warranty and in case you have inquiries or doubts about what it covers, you can check it on this article: Return Policy & Warranty.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

Good point.
Maybe it's just me, but they indirectly saying yes and no? I don't want to look through 13 pages to understand, I will however build an app to scrape the pages... Maybe that will be an easier way to understand what's what... I guess then I will have some data to blog about too.
Wife just gave me one for a gift, so I'm going to blog about the plunders, cool stuff, and dis...
So, I checked here first because hot yoga or bikram -- is likely going to get the watch as wet as swimming, and I'm interested to know what's up.
Grabbing popcorn on this thread. Will post link to a blog about my product usage, the good and bad. I assume a bit of testing and experimenting is necessary to understand most things... Will check warranty now lol.
Best,
Tyler
