Latch doesn't spring back Versa 3 (Week old)

Hello All,

Purchased my Versa 3 a week ago and wanted to change to strap as it was too short. On trying to release the strap the latch mechanism appeared to be stuck. With a little gentle persuasion (gentle rocking back and forth) the latch opened and I could replace the strap with the longer one supplied. However, I noticed the Latch had no 'spring' back in it ( in other words once you pulled the latch open and let go it would not spring back into its lock position). The latch on the other-side of the watch, performs this spring back operation perfectly.

Since changing the strap the watch has fallen off my wrist twice ( luckily I have manged to catch the watch before it hit the floor).

Has anyone else had this problem ? And if so what can be done about it?

I am planning on returning it the Currys (UK retailer), but thought I'd post up on here first, to see if this fault would be covered under the warranty of the watch.

Thanking you in advance

Both latches should spring back without any trouble. Mine works fine in this regard, but I have read several posts on here where people complain about straps detaching and the screen consequently breaking.

This sounds like a defect and I am sure Currys will swap it for a new watch if you ask them to.

Took it back as advised and the guy at Currys couldn't be more helpful, took one look and exchanged it for a new one there and then.

But only 'cause I'd brought it back with 21 days. He said had I brought back after the 21 days, I would have to deal with Fitbit directly.

All sorted now ..
