Everytime I start an exercise I get a notification saying "Linking with Fitbit app required for connectivity features" on my Pixel 2XL. So far as I know, my tracker is linked to my app, and for the most part it has tracked my exercises well. The exception to that being a bike ride yesterday when the Versa kept disconnecting. Is there next step in linking I am missing beyond the initial set up? The watch syncs fine and I get notifications for email, texts etc.
It sounds like it's trying to connect to the app/your phone to use the connected GPS. The Versa doesn't have its own onboard GPS, so uses the phones instead.
When you go into the workout tile on the fitbit app and then select one of the recorded workouts, is there any GPS data in there? Like a map of the route you took etc?
Yes, my routes are recording fine, except for that Sunday ride. Heading out now for the same route, so will find out if the problems are an exception or the new normal. The fact that it seemed to be working is why I found the notification, which lacked directions on how to do it, so odd. I wasn't worried about it until it didn't work Sunday, then I thought maybe there is some problem after all
Best AnswerI have the same problem. I think it started when I enabled the background syncing and the keep alive widget. Syncing is fine otherwise, just annoying notification message that I would like to get rid of.
My Alta gave me the same message. search in community didn't have anything on this issue. I thought that if you sync your fitbit to you app on the laptap then it automatically liks on my phone. what connectivity are they referring to in this message? Thanks!
