Message Notifications from GroupMe with Name

This has been a constant irritant for me and want to know if there is any change from two+ years ago when I commented on it. I have a Versa 1 and use the GroupMe app on an android phone. I do receive messages on my Versa when someone posts in one of my GroupMe groups. However, it never tells who the GroupMe message is from, so I have to check my phone to find out. Other kinds of notifications, i.e. texts and emails, do tell the sender's name. Is there any fix for this?

Mine shows the sender's information. Do you have everything enabled for groupme in the notifications menu?

Yes. The only thing I see to enable in the Fitbit app is a check mark next to GroupMe in the App Notifications.
