Microphone stopped working on Versa 3

I'm on my second Versa 3, this current unit being the replacement from warranty coverage, and here we go again: the microphone has stopped working.

I diagnosed it by accepting a phone call on my Versa 3 as well as attempting, multiple times, to ask the Google Assistant something: the caller couldn't hear anything I said, and the Google Assistant reads "Go ahead, I'm listening..."

Has anyone else experienced this microphone failure on their Versa 3?  It's strange: it was working fine (I use it frequently for the Google Assistant) and then suddenly it just stops working.  There was no trauma to the Versa 3: no extreme temperature exposure, not even submersion in water (which it's supposed to be able to handle anyway), and it just quit.

Check the settings on the Versa 3, is the microphone turned on @MisterShark

Settings - Vibration & Audio - Microphone.

My Versa 3 also won't respond to Alexa or Google Assistant. I don't think the mic is working. I tried all the suggestions in this forum but no luck so far. Yes, settings have the mic turned on. Yes, I removed the Alexa account and re-added it. Yes I tried using Google instead. Versa just doesn't respond.

I'm not sure what all the things that have been tried are.

Have you turned of your Versa 3? This is a hardware restart, not just a simple software restart.

Have you contacted Support

Aaaaand now the replacement Versa 3's microphone quit.

This has got to be some kind of hardware component weakness.  And note: I'm gentle with my electronics.  This thing hasn't been in the water but a handful of times, and doesn't have a scratch to be found anywhere.

It's out of warranty, so the best that Fitbit would do for me is offer a 35% off discount code on a replacement Fitbit.  But there are a few catches: can't use it on the newest Fitbits (Sense 2 and Versa 4) and I'm guessing that includes the new Pixel Watch.

Currently on Fitbit's online store, the Versa 3 is not available: only the old Versa 2 and the can't-use-this-discount-code-on Versa 4.

I had my watch replaced because the original one wouldn't turn on anymore or charge. And now the replacement after having it. I guess 5 months my microphone is speaker or not working. I did a factory reset on the watch. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Make sure the microphones turned on in the watch. Skip sure versa 3 is connected.

I gave up and sold my Versa 3 on eBay, with a full disclosure that the microphone was not functional.

I bought the Pixel Watch. So far so good, but time will tell.
