Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Airdale01. I am sorry for the delayed response.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing that the voice reply to text messages no longer responding. Thank you for providing the additional details. Please know that you can receive notifications even if you’re in the next room (up to 30 feet away), but the Fitbit device and your phone need to be closer together for voice replies to work.

I also recommend checking this help article with more information about Alexa and troubleshooting instructions: How do I use Alexa on my Fitbit Versa 2?

If you have any questions, feel free to let me know.

Alexa is working - but at the same time I can not “dictate” a reply to text messages.
MU actual phone is less than 1 meter away

And thank you !

It appears now that I have lost connectivity to my Versa2

Fitbit app has a hard time synching to device - “Looking for device” - despite reboot of phone, turning bluetooth on and off !

No notifications - no access to Alexa

This Versa2 is only a few weeks old !!!

Please advise…….

Sorry to bother you again

I sent the Support 2 emails highlighting that I have lost all ability to synch my Versa2 - no reply to date and quite frankly I am not impressed.

Kindly advice of the process to have this investigated further

Kind regards

honestly I JUST opened my fit bit versa 3 days ago, and the voice reply is already messing up for me to. after reading your issues im honestly thinking of just taking mine back and getting a refund. i dont have the time or the patience to deal with a half assed electronic paper weight.

yikes sure hope the other products arnt a waste of time like this one

Was there any solution to this? My Versa 2 is not even 2 weeks old and voice text is not working.

Best Answer

Kinda? I've found that no matter what I do, it won't work when connected to my card blue tooth radio, ( I assume because my radios mic over rides my fit bit). I also updated everything (including the app) and then forced turned off my watch by holding the single button down. I figured some devices restart after an update, but my watch is always on, (I charge every 3-4 days) so far so good? And I found also having your app open in the background helps to. I did also run into some syncing issues, but those seem to fix on there own or with a app restart. I hope your issue gets resolved soon 😞 it realy is a decent watch once/ if you get through the hassles.

I am having the same issue. Received my Fitbit Versa in November/December and used to be able to voice text, bit in last day or so I keep getting an error and my phone is literally right next to my Fitbit. I have a Samsung Galaxy 10s.

I have a Google Pixel 3XL and this started for me about 2 weeks ago.  I'm very frustrated not to be able to reply to texts via voice.  Anyone get this resolved?

I went into my app on my phone and it required an update. When I updated, it works now. Check to be sure your fitbit isn't requiring an update.

This happened to me. A simple force-restart fixed this and now it's working flawlessly.

Hold down the side button until the Fitbit logo appears, then release.

Hope it works for everyone who needs it.

My phone is always within 2 feet of my Versa 2 fitbit and the voice for text reply never registers.
