Miles and pace wrong

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have my wifi turned off, bluetooth on, GPS location on, and run with my phone. I tried putting my stride in but it still shows incorrect mileage. Until the mileage from GPS is correct, i know I will continie to have wrong pace. I ran with Strava which showed 5 miles while Fitbit versa showed 4 miles. This was a gift that I am not going to give up quite yet. Any suggestions

@Runbryan Welcome to the Community. Sorry for the delayed reply.

Thanks for the details mentioned and the troubleshooting tried. Sorry to hear that you're experiencing this with your watch.

I would like you to try the following:

  1. Environmental factors, including tall buildings, dense forest, steep hills, and even thick cloud cover, can interfere with your device’s or phone’s ability to connect to GPS satellites. If the signal is blocked—either because you're underground or due to another reason—GPS won't work.
  2. Confirm that GPS is enabled on your device. For more information, see How do I turn on GPS for an exercise on my Fitbit device?
  3. For connected GPS, turn off Wi-Fi on your phone so that your phone doesn’t try to connect to available networks along your route.
  4. For connected GPS, verify the following requirements; then try the troubleshooting steps if necessary.

If this isn't working, please try the following troubleshooting:

  1. Force quit, and reopen the Fitbit app to refresh the connection with your device. If GPS won’t connect, try step 2.
  2. On your phone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on. If GPS still won’t connect, try step 3.
  3. Restart your phone.

Regarding your stride length, please make sure you're dong this procedure to enter the correct information in your Dashboard.

I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

I have the same problem.... I have tried everything. I have walked with my other half and he uses a apple watch and iphone. His miles is always correct. Mine is always 1 mile or can be more behind.

I want to use my watch for training instead of having to get my phone out for strava.... but I had to go back to using strava as accurate miles.

My fitbit is using my GPS to map my rides... but then gets the miles wrong

I even brought a new watch as thought my old one was broken.

This is happening to everyone. Fitbit needs to sort this problem asap.

The miles are not matching your mapped GPS routes

Yep, mine only started doing it a couple of weeks ago but the issue looks like its been around for almost a year. I'm probably gonna pickup an Apple Watch 3 to replace my Versa.

I only just brought a new fitbit last week. Really hope they fix it. Or may have to think about sending it back. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

In all honestly, in my opinion if this feature is important to you you should return it now while you still can.
