Miles during Treadmill Exercise suddenly inaccurate

I have been using my fitbit for 2 years now and not had a problem with this but yesterday I had my fitbit log a walk I took and it wanted to use GPS. It was indoors but I let it. Now the GPS has somehow ruined the fit bits ability to track the distance on my usual treadmill exercise. I went over 14,000 steps and just about 2 hours on the treadmill and it was very short on the distance. How do I reset whatever GPS error happened? It also messed up the distance on the treadmill exercise from last night. I really want to get this fixed so I can maintain my 5 miles a day which won't be possible with this error.

It sounds like you used 'Walk' for yesterday's walk and for the treadmill.  Did you not use the 'Treadmill' option?

You cannot expect a good GPS distance when your location stays the same.

I did use the treadmill setting both last night and today. But the walk with gps changed the stride length or something because now the miles for everything are under by a lot.

Here is the section about stride length and how to set it.

Can I change my stride length in my Fitbit account?

If your treadmill gives you the distance and you know how many steps it was, you can just calculate stride length from that instead of actually measuring it as the instructions say.
