Motion Screen wake not working!

I have motion screen wake (auto) on, but my Versa 2 will NOT wake up when I move my wrist! I have selected this setting on the quick setting from the drop down menu, and I’ve also selected it in the settings app. It will only wake up when I click the button! It won’t wake up by tapping or moving my wrist. 
I only bought it today so it couldn’t be damaged. I’ve tried powering it off but no luck. Can someone please share any tips?

Emma, swipe left to Settings and scroll down and make sure Sleep Mode and Do Not Disturb are turned Off.

Try a Restart and do it several times if necessary.

Remember to check that BOTH options are off in Sleep Mode and Do Not Disturb mode.
