Has anyone else been frustrated at getting Versa to control music on your phone? I've found it's taken me multiple tries and pairing attempts to get Versa to even recognize I'm playing something and for the actual controls screen to pop up. Plus it only seems to work (sometimes) for the default music app on my GS9 or the Spotify app, but not ones like podcast players which I use frequently. Am I not pairing the device right or is it something Fitbit still needs to address?
EDIT: I tried setting up the connection to my phone again and curiously it only seems to work if i unpair and re-pair Versa every time I want to use music controls, no automatic connection once it's already paired. Also really hate how I need to switch between play from watch to play from phone just to get the controls to work. Seems unnecessarily complicated just for an external controller 😞
Moderator edit: subject for clarity
I have similar issue. Contacted support twice; each time we tried many things like removing from bt list and readding, removing the watch from the app and adding again, even factory resetting the device. Each time it worked for some time and then lost connection. However, nothing was no permanent fix, the issue kept popping up again and again. Now I am frustrated and thinking of returning the watch. Dear Fitbit - you need to do better to stay on the market. Atleast, DO NOT release a product without even doing basic feature testing.
I cant switch the source. How do I switch it. I hit the phone icon (its currently stuck on the watch icon) and it doesn't register ive touched it. What should I do?
After the most recent update for my Versa 2, clicking on the mobile device icon does nothing anymore. It does not connect to my phone. Bluetooth will not pair with my phone, no matter how many times I restart mobile phone or watch.. any idea why I cannot connect any longer after update?
Same for me, phone icon is not registering I also cannot connect via bluetooth to watch from my phone
Try this.
1 open bluetooth settings on pone
2 remove versa classic from bluetooth list. ( unpair versa classic) if you dont have versa classic on your bluetooth list just skip this step.
3 go to fitbit watch settings app. The one on the watch.
4 scroll down to bluetooth
5 scrool down to restore music control
6 tap on restore music controls until you see "pair" on bottom right corner.
7 go on your phone. scan for bluetooth and re add versa clasic.
8 try and use music control.
Hopefully that works. Just worked for me.
Best AnswerAwesome! That worked, I didn't think to select that option to pair.
Thank you

Best AnswerMine does the same thing. It will work for a little bit then stops and I have go back through settings again and redo connection. This is the reason I stopped using my fit bit a while back, but was hoping they had fixed it by now....guess not.
Best AnswerNeither can I. Don't understand how to get my music to play. And not sure anyone is giving an answer.
Best AnswerHello, I am trying to click the phone icon on my watch, bit nothing happens, it just stays on the watch setting.
