Music not syncing when skipping songs

I managed to sync my music player on my phone to the fitbit versa 2. You can skip songs, but the interface will not update to the current song playing. Anyone have any suggestions?

 

(Tried turning both the phone and versa 2 off and on, and I also paired it in my settings through Bluetooth)
