Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Parrotmum.

Thank you for the information provided.

There are some situations where your Fitbit Versa 2 could register extra steps. I would recommend visiting this article and open the menu "Why does my Fitbit device count extra steps?".

If your wrist setting is non dominant please change it to dominantThe dominant wrist setting decreases the sensitivity of step counting and should reduce any over counting of steps when your body is not moving. Your dominant hand is the one you use for writing and eating. You can find this option if you go to the online Dashboard at fitbit.com > click the gear icon in the upper right corner > Settings > Devices > Versa 2 > Wrist. Please make sure to sync your watch everytime you make any change to your Fitbit account.

If necessary, you can negate the extra data by manually adding a driving activity as explained in this article.
