A warm welcome to the Community @rockinrobin1204

I am glad to assist you with your concern regarding your Fitbit Versa tracking the distance correctly. If you feel that your step count and distance are inaccurate, confirm the following are correct in the Fitbit app:

Fitbit devices calculate distance by multiplying your walking steps and walking stride length. Similarly, your running steps are multiplied by your running stride length. Since we use height to estimate your walking and running stride lengths, you may want to measure and manually adjust these values if your legs are longer or shorter than average. For more information, see How do I measure and adjust stride length for my Fitbit device?

Keep me posted on the outcome! Robot Happy

Hello I've been having the same exact problem with my fitbit versa. its using GPS but my workout map summary is not showing up and it's showing that i only walked .7 miles when i really did 1.5 miles. this has been happening alot within the last month. how do i fix this?

Best Answer

Its big known problem that doesn't look like its getting fixed any time soon i'm afraid. There's a big thread here:

I'm also having this issue. My Samsung health, and zombies run app match but the versa is short on miles. I've also checked the route against Google maps to confirm my GPS is working correctly. Also confirmed my height is set correctly and the app claims to use GPS to set my stride length.

I agree the versa does not track correctly, it’s such a shame we spent big money on a product that doesn’t work.

Can't agree more. Such an expensive product and completely useless. Does not even transfer music, spotify requires compulsory premium account, you always need to have a phone doe GPS. The whole purpose of a wearable is flawed.

My calories are accurate, but steps and miles aren’t showing correctly.  When I hit edit, they show up but only in edit mode. I have tried to reset with no luck.

Hi I've been having the same problem since the last update approximately a week. I've adjusted my stride and still it shortchanges approximately a mile per workout. Please let me know if there's another solution! Awaiting your response in Texas

I called Fitbit and they took my info, but really no help at all. I have tried everything and I am pretty frustrated. I was gonna but my husband a Fitbit for Father’s Day, but I think I am just gonna spend the extra and get an Apple Watch 😩😢

I have been running with my fitbit for awhile now. It requested an update and  now my fitbit wont take my milage correctly.  I am taking the exact same routes but now its telling me my 3.5 mile run is only 2 something.

I loved my Firbit and was going to buy my husband one for Fathers Day, but I see this is a very common issue so I wont be buying one for him.

Try the following:
A. Unlink the bluetooth.
B. Steady hold the bottom left and right button until the Fitbit logo
appears, a hard reset.
C. Then refresh your phone app and double check your pace count.

This worked for me. I love my versa. The tracking portion had me very
disappointed. I just figured it out two days ago. Good luck.
