Just curious as to how many people are returning their Versa? Im thinking about it, because:
1. It doesnt sync properly half the time. I checked this morning, and it hadnt synced in almost 24 hours.
2. Notifications are so hit and miss that it makes them useless if you cant count on them to work.
3. The music control is terrible, i have only gotten it to work twice. And there is no specific set of instructions to get it to work, it just randomly does.
4. Bluetooth wont stay connected, so it doesnt work well with Smart Lock on my Samsung phone. Half the time it smart unlocks (even though it says its not connected), and half the time i need to enter my pin/iris unlock the phone.
5. Clock faces are painful to swap. I get a "no internet" error when trying to change faces, even though i have internet on my phone. And certain faces reset to their default colors randomly.
6. Waking the screen up is difficult at times. I have to violently shake my wrist to get the screen to come on. Other times, i will be sitting still, and the screen will turn on and off repeatedly.
I havent had a fitbit in a couple of years, but i expected alot more from them on this device. I had a pebble years ago, and never once had these kinds of issues. It synced perfectly, and i had no issues controlling music at all, so im not sure where the difficulty lies in the current devices.
EDIT: Kind of shady, they changed the title of this topic from "how many are returning your Versa" to "need help getting started with my Versa". I did NOT make that change myself.
EDIT 2: I think im going to return it today, and get a Samsung Gear S3 Frontier, since they are on sale. I got music controls to work, and the watch synced ok for a couple days, but all of sudden it has decided it doesnt want to sync anymore--again. From what i can tell, if you walk out of range of your phone, it cannot reconnect again, unless you unpair and re-pair the device.

M waiting until it’s closer to the return time which is 45 days . That means I can wait about 10 more days before I will have to. I’m having issues with the sleep log and the HR tracking. I’m hoping it’s fixed in that time period or I will have no choice

Huh. Glad I'm not the only one experiencing pretty much everything you mentioned. It would be great if Fitbit would acknowledge there's a problem and give us some idea whether they have a road map to fix it or not.

Yeah, i wish they would acknowledge there are issues, but im not going to hold my breath. From what i can tell there have been issues like this on the Ionic as well, and they still have never been fixed, so im not confident they will ever be fixed.
I also have 45 days to return, with about about 30 still left, so i may give it a little more time and see what happens.

Returned mine today. Used the money towards a Samsung Gear. Yes it's larger, but it actually has GPS built in, and the apps it supports are many more. Spotify, for one!
Shame, as it was my first ever Fitbit. I was so excited to receive it, it really is such a shame.

I bought Versa after losing mu samsung gear (a serious problem, that thing has an awful band).
I was always told fitbit was better, precise, bla bla, and i liked the Versa, but now I can use it only at home with the pc (here, moderators told me that it's normal to use it with the pc.... ..... ), no notification, 40 floors a day every time I drivem (so I have a thrd party app that logs when I drive to mask the floors), I have to change phone, but the newest phone supported is from 2 years ago, so I will sure have another non supported phone...
I like this thing, but if it's not fixed in 15 days I'll have to go back to gear 😞

You should have bought the Ionic. Its only $249 now. It works great and has GPS. IMO there is no other fitness app that is as good as Fitbits. It has sleep tracking and soon will be able to track sleep apnea once it gets FDA approval as well as AFIB detection.

I bought a blaze in February had to replace it in March. Returned it in April and got a Versa 4 days ago. I am returning the Versa and getting an Apple Watch. I’ve had a Fitbit from 2010 and am extremely frustrated that there continue to be issues not addressed by the company so I’m done with them

I have about 2 days until my return window closes at Best Buy. I'm leaning towards the return for the reasons you stated plus today (and this is not the first time) when using the Walk exercise the watch could not connect to the GPS on my phone for the mapping (the GPS was on and in my pocket) - just said 'Connecting...' the whole time. It's too bad, as I like much about the watch, but unless there would be a firmware or software fix coming shortly it is back to my cheap, no name, tracker for me.

Seriously considering it. I've owned the Fitbit One (2014), the Fitbit Alta (2016), the Fitbit ChargeHR and the Fitbit Charge2 (2017). I got the Versa yesterday and I have yet to get it to sync. The firmware update that it required out of box took 3 hours (3 freaking hours), and once complete, it diabled my bluetooth headset, so I could not play audiobooks last night, even before uploading media to Fitbit. As of today, it will not sync with phone or computer, will not pair with bluetooth, and is generally DISAPPOINTING. I'd say I WAS a Fitbit fan girl. They even invited me to beta test for them last year. I am fairly certain I will return this watch and go with my first choice, the Samsung Gear, which had great reviews. What an incredibly frustrating 24 hours with a new toy!

I absolutely love my Versa. I think people are really quick to react when things don't go perfectly with new technology right away - it always takes time to work out the glitches, with any technology, not just Fitbit.
To address a couple of your concerns:
- sometimes syncing problems aren't the watch's fault, but the phone's. Make sure the settings on your phone are correct
- notifications: just realized today that if my phone is on silent, it won't send notifications to my watch. If I put my phone on vibrate or have the sound on, notifications go through just fine.
- I don't bother with music controls, can't help you with that one.
- I have a Samsung phone as well and my Bluetooth has been fine
- The clock faces were down for a day or two, and have been fine every since. Again, perhaps a phone issue and not a watch issue?
There's also a possibility that you got a lemon and should exchange it for a new one. I just think in general people get really worked up over things that aren't necessarily Fitbit's fault. I've had almost every single Fitbit (Zip, One, Flex, Charge, Charge HR, Blaze, Alta HR) and the Versa is by far my favorite.

"I think people are really quick to react when things don't go perfectly with new technology right away - it always takes time to work out the glitches"
Well, the time is limited, if the problems are not resolved (as it's seems to bem since people with ionic say they have them since almost a year), I'll get an expensive paperweight.
" sometimes syncing problems aren't the watch's fault, but the phone's. Make sure the settings on your phone are correct"
Yes, my settings are correct, and bt devices usually works with default settings anyway. Ok, as you say, my phone is not working, but I have 9 phones in my house, all have the right settings, and only 1 works with versa. And old phone that can't be used as primary phone because I need at least 30 giga and this thing has 8...
" notifications: just realized today that if my phone is on silent, it won't send notifications to my watch. "
There are tons of reply at the announce of this new, not so well welcomed, feature, so yes, we know that part, and we have problems with notifications with phone not on dnd mode.
"I have a Samsung phone as well and my Bluetooth has been fine"
Luky you, but I can't buy an old samsung because they are the only one supported and the most sold phones are not... It's my traker that has to go with the phone, not the opposite.
"Again, perhaps a phone issue and not a watch issue?"
Yes, the phone of hundreds of people complaining have all problems, only with this bt devices and not with all the others.
"There's also a possibility that you got a lemon and should exchange it for a new one."
I'm at the 3rd one, all with the same probems...
I find your blaming the people who complain very offensive.
And also implying that we are tech illiterate is far from kind. Since you seems to only have used it with one phone, hope you won't need to change it in the future.

Clearly if you're just here to complain, you just want to complain and don't want any help. These were just pointers. I'm just tired of people constantly bashing the device because theirs isn't working correctly. Contact Fitbit directly and get a replacement. If you don't want help.on the forums, don't post here.
