New Fitbit Versa - is the problem my WIFI network??

I treated myself to a new Fitbit versa this week to update my dying ‘one’. When it arrived it took forever to set up - wouldn’t connect, wouldn’t connect to WiFi, had to be updated etc. In fact I reported it to Amazon after trying for 4 hours but after another couple of hours it did set up. So I have a returns label generated already.

The watch itself is doing fine for counting steps etc. However it hasn’t tracked any sleep, the heartrate monitor doesn’t always work and the syncing is awful. It will sync to my iPad - not all the time but sometimes. It won’t sync to my IPhone 6 Fitbit app at all, increasingly not even if it has synced to the iPad.

After 3 days I’m getting very tired of all the Bluetooth off and on, phone off and on etc. And I’m missing the promised sleep tracking

What I want to know, really, is whether I should just return the Versa, give up and go back to something simpler or try re-buying in hopes the next one works better? Judging by this board these are ongoing issues with this tracker. There are people prepared to invest a lot of time in fiddling with tech but I’m not one of them. The question is time-sensitive as I’m going on hols in a few days and walking is one of the major planks of my holiday fitness routine. Anyone any advice

So really weirdly I’m in a coffee shop and my Versa connected first time on both phone and iPad and synced everything including sleep data. I’m starting to think the problem is with my home WiFi (Sky). Has anyone else run into this?

Update - I gave up and sent it back. Not worth the hassle. Avoid. Lost two days worth of steps which is a real pain since I’m doing a challenge.
