New Versa 2 not charging fully

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just bought a new Versa 2 watch and started off by charging it. However, after a few hours, the battery icon is still flashing and does not seem to reach fully charged. I have checked the pins and clean and have also tried many different charging ports. It is a gif for someone so I haven't actually synced it as I assume it can charge fully before I do that?

@Gtmusic, welcome to our Fitbit Community. I'm happy to assist you with your Versa 2 since it won't take a charge properly even though you have cleaned the pins and tried different ports.

I'd like you to restart your Versa 2 as described in this help article. After this, charge your Versa for 2-3 and see if the gets charged completely.

After this, follow the setup steps that are listed in this help page and see if your watch works properly.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

Hi! Did you manage to resolve your issue? Am facing the same. Bought a new Versa 2 as a gift and don’t want to sync to myself, just want to charge it before giving to my dad but the battery icon never stops flashing even after charging for ages!

@SunsetRunner, I'm sorry for the late response. However, let me welcome you to our Fitbit Community.

Since your Fitbit Versa 2 is experiencing the same issue, please try the troubleshooting steps described in this help article. After this, charge your watch for 2-3 hours as well.

Finally, follow the troubleshooting steps listed in this help page in order to fix the syncing issue. After trying these steps, monitor your watch and see if the issues get fixed.

Let me know how it goes.

I just purchased a brand new Versa 2 also, that I opened yesterday and it won't fully charge.  Looks like it has a little less than a quarter to go.  I followed the help article already.  Any suggestions?  Expensive device to not charge fully.

Hi @hg7, thank you for joining us in this thread and our Fitbit forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 2 is not fully charging. I totally understand how you feel about this and I appreciate the time spent trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.

I'd like you to try a factory reset. To do so on your device, follow the steps below:

  1. Hold the back button for about 8 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears:
  • Release the button briefly (for less than 2 seconds).
  • Hold the button again until they feel a second, longer vibration, which indicates they initiated the factory reset.

After this, charge your watch again for 2-3 hours and see if it gets fully charged.

I'll be around if more assistance is needed.
