Hi. I own a Fitbit Alta HR & Charge 2. I decided to purchase the Versa. I received it today and set it up. It's currently charging. I'm wondering how long it normally takes to charge? The Alta HR & Charge 2 both take about 2 hours to fully charge from dead (or close to dead).

Versa is about the same or a little less. The wall charger is just fine when it has a USB outlet.

I think I found my own answer. I looked around and it appears that it also takes about 2 hours to charge. Then I noticed that the charge which had started just over 50% was down to 45% while on the charger. I had it plugged into one of the USB ports on my UPS. I use the two ports on front to charge my Alta HR & Charge 2 with no problems. Apparently the Versa doesn't like that.
After reading about other charging problems, I figured I'd try something else. I have a USB hub attached to my computer but I'm not sure if that continues to charge when the computer goes to sleep. So I didn't try that one.
I grabbed a wall charger from my iPad mini and that's working. I'm nervous using something that didn't come from Fitbit. Is this safe to use. I did just find a wall charger for my iPhone that I don't use. Would that be safer to use? I just want to get this thing charged so I can try it on and see how I like it.

To be on the safe side - I charge it from my computer, but not a hub (I saw specific instructions against that). My current computer still charges when the computer is closed, but it is an easy thing to check to see if yours does. A good quality smart hub should also be fine.

I have an iMac and it's a pain to turn it around to get to the USB ports. I do have a USB hub attached to the bottom of the iMac. It's powered from the computer so I would assume if the computer goes to sleep that the hub goes to sleep.
I also have a Dell laptop I guess I could try charging it there the next time I need to charge it. Again I don't know how to check if it will continue charging when the computer goes to sleep other than trying it.
I do have a powered USB hub in the living room where I charge my iPad. I suppose I could also try that. I prefer to charge my Fitbits in the office but I'll do what I have to.
The iPad charger worked just fine. I assume the iPhone charger would also work but didn't test it because I didn't find it until after. I guess I could email support to ask if it's safe.
Thanks,
Lisa
