I am trying to set up a brand-new Versa. After charging the device I cannot get past the Fitbit/Versa logo, and a message about installing the Fitbit that scrolls through 103 different languages.
Note: I'm an Ivy League grad (which doesn't make me smart, but I like to think I'm not an idiot), and have been working as an application developer (pretentious term for a computer programmer) for over 10 years - i.e., I'm comfortable with technology.
Steps taken:
- Downloaded Fitbit app onto both MS Surface and Galaxy S9 phone. Created an account. Filled in personal information.
- Paired watch with both Surface and phone (via the 4-digit code method).
- Re-paired the watch (i.e., told the Fitbit app I had to pair with a new unit).
- Connected to my home WiFi.
- Restarted watch several times (bottom and back buttons).
- Tapped, swiped, swiped, tapped, double-tapped, etc., etc. (Absolutely no response.)
- Looked through a numerous posts here on Fitbit community site. (I've found many posts about similar problems, but none where someone can't get past the Fitbit logo for a new Versa.)
- READ THE MANUAL!
- Uninstalled & reinstalled the Fitbit app.
- Rebooted phone & Surface.
- Begun cursing a lot.
I have yet to get the standard watch-face, or any app tiles, or anything of that nature to appear on the Versa. I am verrrrrrry close to returning this unit.
Thoughts?/Help???
