Not getting text notifications on the Versa

I am not getting my text messages on my versa. It worked when I 1st set it up for about the 1st couple messages and now I get nothing. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the app, restart my versa, and nothing is working. I get all the other notifications though

@Scooley17 Welcome! Thanks for being part of our Community! Sorry to hear about your notifications not reaching your Versa. Which phone are you using for this? Is it compatible? Which app are you using for text notifications on your phone? I suggest you refresh the link between your Versa and your phone to see if this helps resolve the issue. Start by going to the bluetooth settings area on your phone and remove all the devices listed there (not only the Versa). After this restart your phone and restart your Versa by doing the following:

 

1.- Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
2.- Let go of the buttons.
3.- If your Fitbit watch doesn't work normally, use the instructions in How do I turn off my Fitbit device? to turn your watch off and on again. 
 
After reopen the Fitbit app to start a sync and re-enable the notifications.

I have a Samsung s7 and use the current fitbit app in play store. I will
try that and see if it works. Thanks

@Scooley17 thank you for that information. Usually Samsung devices work well with Fitbit. Still having many bluetooth devices listed/saved on your phone may interfere with each other and with newly added ones so let me know if clearing the list helps.

@Ncusumano Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! 

 

@Scooley17 @Ncusumano I am curious to know which app are you both using. There was an issue with the Message+ and Signal apps but an update was released that should have resolved this issue. If you haven't then please update your apps, restart your phones and restart your Versa by doing the following:

 

1.- Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
2.- Let go of the buttons.
3.- If your Fitbit watch doesn't work normally, use the instructions in How do I turn off my Fitbit device? to turn your watch off and on again.

tried rhe steps listed above and notifications do not work. New Versa with IPhone 8. iMessage app.

I have the iPhone 8 as well and I used to get my text messages, calls, app notifications, etc. on my versa. But now I get nothing. I’ve tried everything to try to fix it and it’s still not working. I just got my versa for Christmas

Hi,

 

I received my versa fitbit Friday 18th 2019. I was able to sync it with my iPhone XS Max but I am not able to receive text notifications on the versa. I tried the steps you provided: turned it off, removed versa from my iPhone Bluetooth and reconnected it, the notification alerts are on in the app and in versa, etc. 

 

Also followed the steps on the links listed on your post, but still I cannot get text notifications. 

 

What else can I do?

Having the same problem. I have an iPhone 8 and I’m not getting text notification on my Versa. Just have the text message app provided on the iPhone. Tried everything mentioned previously, watched YouTube videos and still nothing worked.

I'm having the same problem with mine I have been getting all my notifications but my text.  I called customer service and they are having some technical issues with the iOS they said and sent me this email:

I am having the same problem. I was getting text messages and now nothing. tried all the trouble shooting tips the said and still nothing. one things now I have an annoying messages that says "fitbit sync service - last synced 5/1/19 2:43" how the hell do I get rid of that?

Just got the Versa yesterday. Everything worked fine with the Blaze, but now no notifications come through.  Ironically if I do a "test call" I get that, but nothing else.  Tried everything here, tried restarting the phone, but no notifications.  At least the activities are (finally) syncing.  But the Versa is a nightmare compared to the "set it and forget it" ease that the Blaze was....if only the battery hadn't died.

 

It looks like the prevailing wisdom is to open a ticket with Fitbit, so I guess that's my next step.  Just odd that everything worked fine with the older model Fitbit but the newest hardware/software doesn't (and is much less user friendly).

So I was playing around with the buttons on my fitbit and by holding in the left (back) button a screen comes up with "screen awake - auto or manual" and "notifications - on or off"
