Hello,
I recently bought Fitbit verse SE and it has been going good so far. I am having issue in the app where it says notification service is not working. I am currently using one plus 6T. I have tried all trouble shooting options likes restarting phone ,reinstall, Turn off optimize for FitBit app. Notification access has been provided to the app. It works for short span of time and later ends up with same error.

I am also facing the same issue with my versa lite. I did all the troubleshooting on my One Plus 6T.
I tried clearing caches/data, but notifications lasted only for few hours.
Any fix for this?

Have you turned off optimise for the apps from which you want notifications not just fitbit app.

Fitbit s/w in watch and phone are very fragile there have been 3 updates in last month before you take your versa for its final walk to the retailer for a refund try a factory reset on watch, make sure you have good internet connection and an hour to spare. It worked for

I have turned it off. I do get the notification in my phone. As per Fitbit support one plus 6T is not a listed compatible device. Strange that they have one plus 6 listed.

good day to you.
I too have had this issue with my versa lite. it was not syncing and was not connecting to my blue tooth to receive any notifications. I turned my blue tooth off and on, tried to sync it and it would not do so. it kept asking me to restart my Bluetooth, but that did nothing.
I did a few troubleshoots. and found one useful.
I did a force stop on the app in my phone settings. then I went ahead and uninstalled the app.
after that I did reinstall it, log into the app and paired it again with my phone. and reset my notifications for the FitBit through my phone and the FitBit app.
in the trouble shoot I read, It did tell me to log into the fitbit through a computer or tablet to sync it that way. it was successful and I am now receiving my allowed notifications on my FitBit and it will now sync when told to so do.

I mean "factory reset" not "turn off" you will not lose your data as this held by fitbit.
Factory reset loads latest software 32.33.1.30 latest s/w in phone is 3.1 android.
It will take upto 1 hr and needs good internet connect

Hi Ashley,
So are you asking me to sync the versa first time using computer or tablet and not using the phone?

Hello,
How do I factory reset my versa. Any shortcut keys?

One thing at a time. If you can sync app on phone do it, if you can't don't worry you will only lose 1 days data. Do the factory reset from watch go to settings then "about" at the bottom you will see "factory reset".
It could take up to 1 hr to reload latest s/w.
Ashley has said he also had a problem with the fitbit app on the phone and needed to reload that as well but one thing at a time get the watch update with uncorrupted s/w.
Good luck

my phone was not accepting the sync after a few tries, so I logged into a pc and synced it.

This indicates to me that the fitbit app is corrupt.
I am not fully aware aware of the modus operandi of Fitbit watches but my understanding is communication between watch and phone is only via bluetooth. When you sync using the fitbit app your phone downloads data from fitbit that has been uploaded from your watch.
If you go into the web site direct you bypass the fitbit app and can down additional information such .tcx tracks that cannot be accessed from the app.
Someone correct me if I am wrong!

@deepu029 @kanishbajaj @Ashleyb04 I'm sorry for the late response. However, I would like to follow up and would like to know if the notifications issue persists or if it got resolved.
In the meantime, please try the troubleshooting steps that are listed in this help article. This article contains steps that you already tried but you can skip them and proceed with the rest.
@silvermetis thank you for your help and contribution.
Keep me posted!

I have done it all. But it works for short period of time and then I receive the same error message. Only option left for me was the pin the app and make it running in the background. I knew that it would drain out my phone battery but I was left out with no other options.

I think the problem now is the apps you want notifications from are not optimised. When the screen on your phone goes into sleep mode the apps continue to run in background until the android battery saving kicks in so you could well receive notification for period of time.
By all means go through the check list but I would check optimisation first. If you are not sure how to do it just ask google.

Well if mobile not supported by fitbit then you can't do anything.
Anyway I own OnePlus 6 and I faced the same issue, there are 2 work arounds that I found which will work all the time.
1) force quit the fitbit app and thent reinstall the app.
2) (I like this one the most) Go to Apps & notifications>Special permission> Notification Access.... Turn off and turn on the notification access to fitbit app..
I hope this helps
