Odd syncing issues: Sleep and hourly activity

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Twice in the last week (this morning and last Monday), the Fitbit app (iPod Touch) has not recorded my sleep time, asking me to "Wear your Fitbit to bed."

Also, for the last two days, the hourly activity counter has quit counting after five hours.

The Fitbit is using the Colfaxness clock face, so it tells me that the counter is working (it tells me how many steps I've taken in the current hour). I don't have an alternative method to learn about sleep.

The heart rate tool seems to be working normally. Same with all the other tools. What's up?

@workingwriter welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa since it has not recorded your sleep nor your hourly activity.

I'd like you to restart your Versa as described in this help article. This will refresh your watch internally. After this, change the clock face to another developed by Fitbit, not a third party clock face. Finally, monitor your Versa and see if your sleep is being tracked properly as well as your hourly activity.

Keep me posted on the outcome! Smiley Happy

Done. Before refreshing the watch, it successfully recorded and reported sleep information, and the first hours of activity. After refresh, and switching clockfaces, things seemed to go well, and I stopped checking the app for hourly activity. When I opened the app after a long walk, the app missed Hour 7 (of 9). The watch accurately noted that I'd moved all 9 hours.

The other curious thing is that when I opened the app this time, it reported "failed to sync with device." When I pulled the screen down to sync manually, it worked.

Lastly, the watch's charge was dropping. As I write this, it's charging (26% now, 18% when I plugged it in). I've owned and worn Fitbits for several years now, and haven't seen this behavior.

More ideas appreciated.
