Pausing during workout

My versa has been pausing during my workout for the past few weeks and it's beyond frustrating. I have tried resetting it 3 times, no help. I've tried being "careful" but shouldn't have to and not helping. Seriously considering getting a Garmin, after being a Fitbit devotee since 2015. At my wits end with it. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @SherryFed

Thank you for being a Fitbit customer. I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing that your Fitbit Versa has been pausing during your workout. Thank you for your efforts to resolve this by restarting your device. I totally understand how you are feeling and will be happy to investigate. Please confirm if you're using the Exercise app on your watch to track your workout? Does your Versa pause during the workout or reboots itself? What do you see on the screen? What type of workout are you doing? Are you using GPS or listening to music?

If you would like to manually log your activity, please follow these steps: How do I manually log exercises in the Fitbit app?

Looking forward to your response!

Thanks for your response and the manual edit link. It's happening during my boxing class, my bootcamp class and sometimes on my "Burn" class which is a lot of treadmill work and some light weights, lunges, planks, squats. I hit the the exercise icon, select workout, click the start and go.  In boxing I can sometimes feel it pause, other workouts I don't, just look at it when we get a water break and it's on pause, no idea why. Not using the gps or listening to music. I dont use either of those features I basically just use it for steps, distance and workout stats. Hope that helps

Hi @SherryFed, thank you for your reply.

I appreciate the additional details. Please let me know if you're using the Exercise app to track your exercises? Do you see that your exercise is paused or your watch totally loses the exercise data?

Have you tried to use the SmartTrack? Most Fitbit devices automatically recognize and record high-movement activities at least 15 minutes long through the SmartTrack feature. You can choose which activities your device tracks automatically from the list of options, or change the amount of time required for the activity to be recorded. For more information, please see How do I automatically track activity with my Fitbit device?

Please keep me posted.

Hello ! I use it for tracking exercises. It's just pausing but not completely losing. Like it will show I only worked out for 9 minutes and burned like 65 calories when I've worked out for around a full hour and burned more like 500. It's tracking my heartrate, it sees I'm exercising but it makes the workout stats wrong. Auto recognize is on fall all exercise options. Let me take some screenshots. On a positive, it's worked fine for the past 2 days. It only was pausing during boxing this week but not lifting or bootcamp.

Hi @SherryFed, thank you for your reply. I am sorry for the delayed response.

Thank you for the update and a screenshot. I really appreciate your efforts and your time. I am glad to hear that your Versa has been tracking your exercise fine for the past few days. I appreciate the information that it was pausing only during boxing. I recommend trying to use the SmartTrack feature to track your boxing. In this case you don't need to start the exercise in the Exercise app to let your Versa automatically recognize your activity. You may need to confirm your exercise recognition settings:

1. Tap the Today, then tap the Exercise tile.
2. Tap the gear icon.
3. Tap an exercise, and adjust the duration if needed.

Let me know how it goes!

Thank you will do, I'll let it go without "initiating" it and see if that does the trick. It paused tonight during my Olympic lifting metcon class, but I've narrowed it down to happening when I was doing burpees and push ups. It's got to be the angle of my wrist, which would make sense for boxing too. Hopefully next design maybe won't be as sensitive? Thanks for all your help, I really appreciate it.
