Pixel 3 keeps switching off Bluetooth

Anyone else use a Pixel 3?  Mine keeps switching off the Bluetooth so that my watch isn't always syncing.

I never used to have this problem with my Fossil Android watch.

Anyone else experience this?

@Keith1974 Try factory reset. It seems that the bluetooth issues correspond to your recent OS update... ugh ;/

@Keith1974 I am on Pixel 3. What do you mean by switching off bluetooth? Phone bluetooth you mean or disconnecting Versa?

So as far as I can tell I have the watch on and the phone Bluetooth on and
both connect and communicate with one another.

Then after a while I now longer get messages etc as the pixel has switched
the phone Bluetooth off.

  1. Open settings on your Pixel
  2. Tap Apps and notifications
  3. Tap See all apps
  4. Tap 3 dots in the right top corner
  5. Tap Show system
  6. Scroll down to Bluetooth app and tap
  7. Tap Storage & cache
  8. Tap Clear cache
  9. Reboot phone

Let me know how it goes.

Sadly this hasn't fixed it.  I woke to my Bluetooth being off, switched it on and an hour later it was off again

@Keith1974 Let's repeat the steps 1-6 with a little spin:

  1. Open settings on your Pixel
  2. Tap Apps and notifications
  3. Tap See all apps
  4. Tap 3 dots in the right top corner
  5. Tap Show system
  6. Scroll down to Bluetooth app and tap
  7. Tap Advanced
  8. Tap Battery
  9. Battery optimization should be "Not Optimized". If it says being optimized, tap on it. It should open the list of apps. If you cannot find Bluetooth, select "All apps".
  10. Tap on Bluetooth app
  11. Select Dont optimise
  12. Tap Done

@Keith1974 I know there used to be a bug that would make bluetooth randomly switch off on Pixels but I thought Google resolved it with an update ages ago... Are you running the latest version of Android? Also, did you have this issue before or is it pretty new, let's say after recent OS update? I will be honest, there are two more options to try:

  1. factory reset Pixel - yes... everyone hates that
  2. conntact Google support - they are actually pretty good with their response

I wish I could help more. ;/

Hi

I am not sure when it was last updated - probably a couple of weeks ago and
it's the latest build of Android 10.

I have not had the Fitbit long so not sure about the length of the problem.

I did, however, use to have a Fossil watch connected to this phone and that
was always connected (probably stopped using it around October time so
that's a window of 5 months or so where something may have changed in the
phone).

As of yet, I have had no luck with Google support but thanks for your help.
