I just wanted to add a comment on the overall poor product quality that I have experienced with the fitbit devices I have owned right from the earliest devices. Myself and my partner both have versa 2s. She has had the face of her Versa 2 fall off twice in less than a year. I think this is terrible and shows a lack of care in the prodcution process. This is an ongoing issue I have had with all the fitbit devices I have owned. I feel like these are probably manufactured in China for probably a couple of dollars per device and then sold at over a 100 dollars each with a huge mark up for the company but in reality you get what you pay for. The company doesn't really care if they have to give out free devices as they cost basically nothing to make. For every single fit bit I have owned I have had a problem. It is very disheartening. You then call the help desk and you get put through to someone in India who doesn't reallly care. They are just answering a call to a faceless customer they don't know and don't really care about. This is what globalisation has brought us a throw away culture.

Having been on these boards for years I can tell you that this is not common. I started with the Fitbit Force, which was recalled due to skin rashes. I myself got one and then I learned to clean it and wear it a bit loose and the rashes stopped. I have only had 1 tracker (Charge3 ) fail and after a little work got a replacement. I doubt very seriously that they cost Fitbit a few dollar each. Yes, they are made in China. So are Apple watches and phones. In my opinion the US has relied too heavily on China for products. I immediately praised Trump's tariff action even if it mean I might have to pay more for a product. Yes, we need more products manufactured here, but ripping a company for doing what every other US company does is not going to get us there.
