Responding to Messages on iPhone

Hey y’all. Recent Fitbit user here. I actually had an Apple Watch a few months ago but I couldn’t justify spending $300+ on a watch that is merely an extension of what I have on my wrist. One thing I loved about the Apple Watch was that you could respond to text messages by speaking into the microphone, a feature that is only available on Android FitBit users. Anyone know if there are any plans for FitBit to make this feature possible for iPhone users? Like many, I’m always torn with Apple products because they all work well together but it’s hard to justify the price tag. When I saw the Fitbit Versa 2 on sale I quickly jumped on it and loved it. Would love to see that feature on FitBit in the near future 😊

I will have to search. I know we have a request for this that can be voted on. However until Apple changes their policy and restrictions. Fitbit, as well as other third parties will not be able to respond to system notifications.

Fitbit would love to offer this feature but Apple has blocked third parties.

Thanks for the info! Is there anyway I can vote for that request?

Ah I see. Must be a move by Apple to get people on the Apple Watch instead. I’d love to see a FitBit app that can somehow bypass those restrictions. I’m willing to pay for it too but hopefully it can get worked out. It would have FitBit competing hard against Samsung and Apples watches.

We think it is Apples decision. They seem to think they know better at what their users want.

Fitbit would live to give you the ability to respond. Maybe if enough Apple users ask apple to allow Fitbit and Garmin to respond. Apple might release this option
