My husband and I share an e-mail account. Since he got a Fitbit and downloaded the app (iPhone) I cannot log in or sync my Fitbit. Is it likely that the shared e-mail is the problem? Is there a workaround?

Each person needs separate account/email. That is the key to the data on the Fitbit database.
One of you will have to get another email for fitbit account. It would make sense for the one who has historic data already there to keep account, and new user create a new account with another email.
Do you each have a separate device to sync with? If not, you will need to keep logging out of one account and then into the other.

Hi @DianeSHSU,
@JohnnyRowis correct. Each person needs a separate email in order for the devices to sync properly. The good news is that there's several sites that offer free emails to choose from (GMail, Yahoo, Aol, etc.) You can sign up for an account with any email address you choose.

Thank you. We have the same problem with Classmates and Google. It doesn't seem like rocket science to link one e-mail to different accounts with different passwords.

@DianeSHSU since the email address is your login ID, yes it will not be easy to have two different accounts with the same account ID.
Fortunately Google has an easy workaround.
Setup one Fitbit account with the your Google ID.
Ex: myemail@google.com
Then setup the second account with the same email address, but add a modifier.
Ex: myemail+fitbit@google.com you can put anything after the + sign.
Even easier is to add a period (or leaving the period out) when setting up the second Fitbit account.
Ex: my.email@gmail.com
Fitbit will treat each of the above 3 as different accounts and Google will send all three to the same email account.
You could then have as many Fitbit accounts as you can think of modifiers for.
