Sleep pattern / sleep cycles

I just got my Versa lite a week ago. The entire week it was showing sleep pattern. This morning when I woke up, I did the usual and pressed I’m awake on my phone and waited for it to sync and it showed last nights sleep in sleep pattern! Why? What’s the change? Is there a way I can view it in both formats? I like the graph of the sleep pattern and where it shows sleep quality broken down.

@Lin7604   Your Versa Lite is designed to track sleep automatically.  It must track sleep automatically in order to get sleep stages.  If you start/stop your sleep in the app, you always get sleep patterns --   Help article.

You get one or the other, but not both.  From time to time, automatically tracked sleep is reported in patterns, not stages.

The start/stop sleep function in the app is necessary for some of the trackers that don't have heart rate capability.  I don't see a reason to use the app to start/stop sleep with your Versa Lite.

1) Occasionally sleep patterns cannot be detected to get the other sleep display.  That does not mean that something has permanently changed.  It is often just a one-night shift.  Here are some possible explanations:

Why don't I see sleep stages today?

2) You say you pressed "I'm awake" on your phone.

As mentioned in the above link, using 'begin sleep now" and 'I'm awake" buttons is not recommended with trackers with heart rate sensors, and can prevent sleep stage detection.  Just let your tracker  figure out your sleep by itself.

"Begin sleep now" and 'I'm awake" are for trackers without heart rate sensors.

I sometimes use those buttons for naps I know will be less than an hour so will not be auto-detected, in order to get sleep credit for them, even though I know I will not get sleep stages unless at least 3 hours of sleep.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Aww ok thx. I always press begin sleep now in the app. Last night I pressed it then got up and did some stuff and then went back to bed so I pressed stop and re set it. I guess that explains it.  I didn’t realize I don’t need to do nothing to get the sleep tracking and figured it wouldn’t get the Times accurate
