Sleep tracking inaccurate with Versa

My Versa tracks my sleep but it's inaccurate.  I woke up this morning at 7am.  My Versa reported I was awake at 5am & it stopped tracking my sleep.  Other nights it starts my sleep long after I go to bed.  I'm asleep after my head hits the pillow.  My Blaze used to track sleep if I fell asleep in the recliner, recorded awake time when I moved to my bed & went back to tracking sleep until I woke in the morning.  Are there known issues with the Versa's sleep tracking that are being corrected by Fitbit?  I made the wrong assumption accuracy (heart rate, steps, sleep) would not be an issue with the Versa since the Blaze works so well.

Same here!!...very frustrating for me as I have a horrible time sleeping and I bought the Versa so I could tack my sleep pattern before I see the specialist. I’m basically awake on and off all night and it records it as light sleep or REM.

My phone doesn’t “wake up” either when I look at it. I have to tap or shake my hand. Sometimes even press the left button.

....and yes...I’ve tried all the tricks....

Lol!!  Well we all know now Fitbit has the worst customer service.

Customer service? Is there a customer service? Where? Smiley Surprised

I get my new Fitbit today. Hopefully that will fix the issue but it’s doubtful.

Ok, hope you'll have more luck this time. Anyway, don't forget to lay still when you're sleeping, and move you're arm a little when you're in 'restless sleep'. Jump a few times when you're awake. That will do the trick.

I tried everything. Last night was to flip it around sleeping with it face down. Still just basic sleep. I'm gonna return it today and see how the Ionic fits and test that for a night. If I get same results as Versa I'll be heading back to Samsung and picking up a samsung gear sport. So disappointed.

I concur with the sleep tracking problem.  My Blaze worked very well.  This Versa is very erratic and unreliable tracking sleep.  Other features are better.

I have the same problem with the Versa. It does not record my sleep accurately. My charge 2 worked just fine. Please fix this issue!!

Good luck Amy. If you find this Versa doesn’t work either especially for the sleep stages and HR tracking could you try this. Wear you husband ‘s Ionic and have your husband wear your Versa for a day to see what happens. I’m just curious if he would have the same issues that you might have.

My husband has the Iconic and he said it worked fine.

To be honest, I don't see any problems with my Versa either. It looks like I get the same sort of results as with my Blaze. Swapping your watches (like Gadams99 says) might be a good idea.

That’s a great idea!  I will wear my Versa tonight since I got a new one and then if i get the same results then I’ll try his Iconic.

I too am having issues.  I've had a charge 2, blaze and the ionic and never once experienced these issues.  They are the same as everyone else has described in the feed.  I definitely think FitBit  needs to recognize and address this problem.

Returned my versa yesterday. Slept with an ionic last night. I still got only 'basic sleep details' due to lack of consistent HR monitoring. There's nothing left for me here now. I'll be exchanging it for a Samsung Gear Sport. Luckily the Samsung went on sale at best buy from to 229 from 299. These's a win!

@ErickFitbit  my sleep tracker was working fine and last night it went rogue. It showed that I was up from 2:19 - 4 (I wasn't) and the detailed sleep disappeared.  I've changed nothing, am still wearing my versa as snug as all the other nights.

@JeannieBWright My sleep tracking went rogue last night too.  It says I was awake from 2:16 until 3:39 (I wasn't).  It only recorded basic sleep after that since it was less than 3 hrs before my awake time.  I'm so disappointed.

I'm having this issue as well.  My Blaze always tracked my sleep flawlessly.  The Versa tracked my sleep well the first night or two, but then stopped tracking my sleep all together come about 5 am, when I was still asleep.  I've played with the sleep sensitivity settings and the more sensitive settings led to worse results.  I may try tightening my band tonight to see if that helps.  I'm very happy with the Versa aside from the sleep tracking issues, but would really love to see this issue fixed.

Well the new Fitbit worked for 1 night. Back to saying only 1 hr of sleep. Now I will swap fitbits with my husband for a night.

Same issue here can’t believe we all have user error.  Fix this please or at least tell us you are working on it.  How dumb must they be to allow this many disgruntled customers.  Not to me toon those that aren’t on this forum and simply return their product and go with a different brand.  Dumb dumb dumb...

I too am having the same issue. I have been confused as each night my first hour or so has been cut off from my sleep. Last night I went to bed at midnight only to have my versa start tracking at almost 4 am. I know I was not awake for almost 4 hours. My blaze tracked my sleep flawlessly for 2 years. If I wear my band any tighter I will start constricting my wrist. I wear it as always on my non dom hand. This is not user error as I wear it is the same fashion as my blaze for the last 2 years. I have sleep apnea so I use this to help track my sleep. I have also had syncing issues with my versa. Overall this has not been a resent experience. I have had my fitbit scale turn into a brick recently now this. I had no issues with the blaze, charge hr or the flyers but really disappointed with the versa right now. My wife's versa is doing the same thing

My VERSA does not seem to track my sleep as well as my previous Charge HR.  It usually shows me falling asleep and shows sleep stages correctly. However, it grossly understates my total sleep because it stops tracking as soon as I go to the bathroom. This will affect a lot of older men 🙂 . Setting is normal, worn quite tightly on non-dominant wrist...
