My Versa is about a month old and it does not track sleep time properly. It only puts me to sleep after midnight every single day. I edit the time to include the hours prior to midnight and all is well.
I'm on my third Fitbit after the others were lost in the Camp fire so I'm an experienced user. I would like to get a solution rather than a work around.

@yoyomon it's great to see you in our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa since it's not tracking your sleep accurately.
I understand your frustration and you don't want a workaround. However, I'd like to provide some troubleshooting steps that have been helpful for this type of issues.
Please restart your watch as described in this help article. After this, make sure that your Versa is not being worn too tight. Finally, monitor your sleep tracking and let me know if the issue gets fixed.
Keep me posted on the outcome!

Good morning,
I wish I had good news but it seems that no matter what I do my Versa does not get the concept of going to bed before midnight. Every single morning I have to edit the sleep times in order to get proper sleep tracking. The only thing I may have done outside the norm is to change the clock face. I don't like digital clocks and always switch this to an analog clock. For now I just go to bed after midnight or edit the sleep times each morning. I have a love/hate relationship with technology so I give up, for now ...

My Versa has gone from bad to worse. Now the sleep tracking is totally random. I really can't say if the problem is in the Versa or the Fitbit applications but I've updated everything and now I have more of the same problems. I feel like I am shooting a moving target trying to troubleshoot these problems. I've gone past my warranty so I seem to be stuck with this so I guess I'll start my new junk drawer with the Versa.
