Spinning Not Recording Properly

I have the spinning shortcut on my Versa, turned it on before my workout. Did my stationary bike for 30 minutes. When I ended the exercise and updated the app it said I still had 0 activity minutes and I had a distance of 1 mile. My bike on the other hand said I went 7.6 miles. There was also a huge discrepancy between the amount of "calories burned". Am I missing some detail on how to set this up to record accurately? Do I have to have heart rate on?

Hello @Reb89 as for distance, your Fitbit in the arm will have no idea of the virtual (made up) distance the bike has reported.

As for active minutes, what does the reported heart rate look like?

I keep heart rate off to save battery. I have to have it on to log exercise?

You do not need heart rate on to record activity, but for a better calorie count the heart rate should be on.

Now with spinning there is not much arm movement and Fitbit at best will use a generic formula in reporting calories.
