My Versa has been pretty good when it comes to accuracy of stairs (floors) climbed in a day. That is until the recent app update. Initially I thought maybe it had something to do with aircon while I was on holiday so I didn’t get too concerned.
However, today I had a slack day. I walked a total of 6000 steps (yep, very slack compared to me average of 20k), but somehow my Versa insists I also climbed 176 flights of stairs. That’s a pretty good effort for so few steps.
This is was not a problem until recently and I have tried all of the suggestions in various other threads on here, but I’m wondering if the app update and this error are coincidental since it was accurate until then.
Generally very happy with Fitbit but this is starting to annoy me - any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Stupendousman19. I'll be happy to assist you with your stairs count inquiry.
Fitbit devices detect floors with an altimeter, which is a sensor that calculates altitude based on atmospheric pressure. Your device is designed to detect pressure changes based on elevation gain, but other types of pressure changes—such as a gust of wind, a weather change, or opening a door—can occasionally cause your device to register extra floors. Your device registers 1 floor when you climb about 10 feet, which is the average between residential and commercial floor heights. If you climb long staircases you may find that the floor count on your device doesn’t match the number of floors you climbed when the staircase is taller than 10 feet.
I don't have records about this happening with the latest update. I would recommend restarting your device and letting us know if this situation persists.
