Steps not same as walking partner

On vacation with sister and both walking on beach. My registered steps are consistently different than hers. I have 3000 less for the day. I have Versa 2. She has Versa 3. Same hapoens on each day. Any idea why?

Steps can differ if you are of different height - a shorter person will take more steps to cover the same distance. However, the distance ought to be the same for each of you. How do they compare?

I have the same problem.  My partner is 6'4", I am 5'4" we walk the same route, but he always walk more miles than me. Do I have to reset my steps distance,  I thought the GPS was more reliable?

My sister and I are only one inch different. I am one inch taller. Which is
why I was curious about why we have such a difference.
