Steps on challenge not right

The steps in my weekend challenge is not the same as on my dashboard! It's really frustrating. The steps are a few thousand short. I've restarted my phone, logged out of the app but still it's not right. Please help

I wish I could help.  I just did 2-3 hours of non-stop housecleaning, setting up a Christmas tree, etc... and didn't even get any credit for "exercise."  I'm sure my steps aren't correct, either   (I just got the Versa 2, so maybe I'm doing something wrong.)

@sammi0912 was the challenge started in your timezone?

Yes we are all in the same time zone. I'm not happy. I got the versa as a birthday present on Monday and for it to already have issues is disappointing

This is not a Versa issue, it may be an issue with the Fitbit app on your unknown phone model or an issue with the Fitbit cloud services.

The Versa is counting arm movements as steps. I stood in one spot and unwrapped packages and watched my step count increase. I spoke with support and their answer is to change the exercise mode to driving for awhile each day to make up the difference! We would do better wearing a $10.00 pedometer! Very disappointing

Yes I know it's an issue with the app but the reason I got a fitbit was to take part in challenges with friends. Not much point if fitbit can't even get the app right. I have a samsung s9. I would expect the app to work correctly. I don't know what the fitbit cloud service is?

The cloud service is where all the challenge data is calculated.

I don't know. I am not doing the challenge. I was responding to the person
having trouble with the steps not being calculated correctly. I have that
problem also. You don't need to be doing the challenge to have problems
with the step count. It is measuring my hand and arm movement as steps even
when I am standing still. I got in touch with Fitbit and they did not have
a solution. A $10.00 pedometer does a better job of measuring my steps.
