I was cleaning my Fitbit with a little rubbing alcohol (70%) and noticed that the sensor cover was cloudy. I wear sunscreen daily but let it absorb before putting the watch back on as well as wiping down my wrist with a rinse, waiting for that to dry also. The only stat I can see affected by this is heart rate (and active zone minutes). However, it’s also stating that I do over 20 floors when I only do 4, tops, but that could be weather related. It would seem short sighted if you can’t wear sunscreen with a fitness watch.
what will a cloudy sensor cover interrupt? How do I stop it from degrading more? A new watch right now is not an option. Thanks!

Hi @Mahdevah I like how you think! Buying a protector now might just save your Fitbit's screen. You should check the various products available to see which one would best work for your lifestyle. Some people buy the removable screen protectors, but there are some nice heavy plastic clear pieces that fully cover the screen. See which one works best for you, but also check the reviews of the available products before purchasing.

@Mahdevahthere are protective covers which do encompass the entire pebble, so I'd check those reviews. If it won't pick up your stats, then it might not be the right cover for you.

@Odyssey13 @Would you happen to know anywhere or anyone selling said cases? I was wrong and it’s a Versa 3 (gave my mother the last one). Google and Amazon just find screen protectors.

@Mahdevahjust spent some time looking at Amazon. They have the protective cover bands which encompass the Versa 3, but it doesn't protect the back. A few people with Charge 4 devices had them that covered the pebble entirely, so it had to be removed in order to charge it. The ones I see for the Versa 3 have it where the back is open and can be more readily charged. I'm not sure if the usual thin screen protectors (like the old cell phone ones) would work for the reverse side.
Actually, have you tried a soft toothbrush (baby type) to brush the back portion of the Fitbit? I know that it can get dirty with skin flakes.
Sorry I don't have better news for you.

@Odyssey13 Thank you for the help!
The plastic itself is cloudy. Tried alcohol with a cotton pad earlier but did your suggestion as well. No luck. Might just have to be more aware.

I forgot to mention - barometric pressure can make it seem as though you've done more floors than usual.
@Mahdevahbeing aware is a good thing. Sometimes on the forums people post pictures of their devices and some people must never think of cleaning their devices and they still are able to get sensor readings!
