The only times I've had problems is when there was interference. E.g. if it doesn't sync with the phone, I temporarily turn off bluetooth on the laptop and that does the trick.
On one occasion I also found interference from a portable phone signal (not a cell phone). Unplugged it and the sync worked as expected.
If that still doesn't work, try shutting down then restarting the app.
Another thing to check is that whatever you're syncing with (phone or laptop or whatever), the Versa is shown as being paired / connected when you check bluetooth connections.
