I can read my emails and see who is calling me. However, I know a text comes in but have no idea from whom and it won't let me open it. I can reply but to whom am I replying and to what? I have a Galaxy 8.

I would like to follow up on the text notifications issue that your Fitbit Versa is experiencing and would like to know if the issue persists or if it got resolved.
In the meantime, restart your Versa 2 as described in this help article. After this, try turning off the notifications and turn them back on. Finally, monitor your watch and see if the issue gets fixed.

Greetings,
I have recently acquired a new Versa 2 and currently have the same issue as others where text notifications are not coming through.
Phone Model: iPhone 7
Software Version: 13.4.1
I have browsed through multiple threads and attempted multiple possible solutions with no luck.
I’ve made sure all available updates for firmware, software, and hardware were installed.
I have disconnected and reconnected my device.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Fitbit app and also disconnected and reconnected the Versa 2, did a complete re-setup, and still nothing.
I have checked all the notification settings in the Fitbit app, Bluetooth settings, and phone settings, and still nothing.
Any help is welcomed!
