Thoughts on Versa 2

I upgraded from the Versa 1 which I loved. The Black Friday price drop was too much to ignore. The 2 is faster, has a much better screen, and is more comfortable to wear.  Going through menus and screens is noticeably faster the updated processor makes the watch quicker and easier to interact with.  I didn't think I'd like the Alexa integration but it's been one of my favorite features. Now for the downsides.

I'd like to get the name of the person that approved the charger design so I can write them a sternly worded letter about UX design. I think this is the last generation Fitbit can get away without including GPS. Swimming metrics need to be upgrade and I don't get it as it would just be a software update. Overall I love the upgrade; especially at $150.

@datalore It's great to see you participating in the Community. I appreciate the time you took to share your experience with Versa 2.

I'm glad that you bought it during the Black Friday offer. Regarding the charging cable design, you may want to post your idea in our Feature Suggestion board, these ideas are reviewed by our team and the status changes based in Fitbit's plans.

I found this idea: Make Versa charging cable compatible with Versa 2, you may want to vote and comment on it, this to show your support.

Here's the Product Manual, you'll find all the information about your new watch.

I'll be around if you have any additional questions 😀

Completely agree! The charger for the Versa 2 seems like a step backwards compared to the charger for the first Versa, which was a much better design. I have actually bought another charger on Amazon because the original annoys me so much. I will have to use it for travel but thankfully, that's not often so it's currently dumped in a draw in disgrace!

I have mixed feelings about my Versa 2. On one hand I love that I can track my steps, sleep, water/food consumption, and automatically track most exercises, but on the other hand I've been having frequent syncing issues which has become quite aggravating to say the least.

I've posted in a few other topics talking about this, but at least once a day (at minimum) my Versa 2 does not want to sync to my phone (Galaxy Note 9). I've tried a million different things to fix it, and it still persists. This translates into me not having text messages forwarded to my watch, steps not tracking into the fitbit app regularly, and completely destroys my ability to use the music player feature. From the other posts on this forum I gather this isn't a new issue or an unknown one to fitbit, and this is absolutely something that needs resolving. I can't really recommend the Versa 2 in its current state.
