Did you mean:

Treadclimber, calories

It was nice to see the Treadclimber added to the exercise types you can track.

The problem/question I have is the number of calories/minute it logs.

For a half hour of fairly rigorous exercise it logged under 100 calories. The Bowflex TC logged 544.

Any thoughts

Did you get the workout via auto-recognize (SmartTrack), Exercise App, or manually logging it after the fact?

I don't now what the setting for that is on manual logging, but the best way to get good numbers is to use the exercise app while you are doing it.  When you manually log an exercise, that overrides any heart rate data that was recorded during that time so it has no idea how strenuously you worked unless it asks for something like that in the manual logging.

The only time I would recommend manually logging an activity is if you were not wearing the tracker.

I recommend using the Exercise App.  From the clock face, scroll right (swipe left) to 'Exercise'; tap that to see the exercise options.  There is a 'Stairclimber' option, though you probably will have to add it to the exercise shortcuts.

When you use the exercise app, Fitbit uses your heart rate data that was recorded to get your calories, active minutes, ...

To adjust the exercise shortcuts, see

Can I reorder the exercise shortcuts on my Fitbit device?

Also look at the articles above and below above link to see more on the exercise app.

Note that help article seems to reflect the new firmware update which you might not have yet, but I think it's close enugh you can figure it out.
