Unable to setup Versa on Galaxy Note 9

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a 15 day old Versa which i did setup on my Galaxy Note 9.It worked for few days.

I had to format the phone and this time before setting up i formatted the Versa as well.

Now when i try to setup  Versa after i punch in the 4 digits from the watch to the APP it says "Connecting" and after few seconds the message disappears and i see the screen "Account" screen which has the option "Set up a Device"

All i see is the Fitbit Logo on the watch now and if i have to try to set it up again i have to restart the watch and then follow the same procedure.

I have tried other handsets as well and its still the same.

Did anyone face this problem?

Hi, try to setup your Versa using WiFi instead of BT. To do that, put your Versa in the charger and connect it to your computer. It's best to do that also with you phone. Go into the Fitbit app and go to WiFi settings and press it. You will see the name of your network and right next to it the WiFi icon in white. Press the icon and Fitbit will start connecting to your network. Once that's done, the icon turns to blue and says connected. to check whether your Versa is also connected, go to the settings of your Versa and press it, scroll down to Device Info and press that too. If you see there an IP address then your Versa is connected. now go to Fitbit app again and press "add device" and choose, of course, Versa. Good luck.

Appreciate your reply brother.

I am little confused.

Where will i find the Wifi settings?

I cant seem to find the wifi settings in the Fitbit App.

Also are you talking about the Fitbit app on the android phone or on the computer?

I'm talking about the Fitbit app on your android device. In the dashboard of your Fitbit app, press the watch icon on top of the screen on the right side and you will see the page with the Clock and App tiles. Scroll down untill you see WiFi settings and press it and proceed as explained in my former post.

That's where the problem is.

I cant see the device in the App.

That's why i am trying to set it up but it doesn't seem to proceed.

In the Fitbit app on the dashboard screen on the top right i dont see Versa listed.

Any suggestions?

If you have followed my suggestions in my first post, I said that once the WiFi connection is established, you will need to go to your Fitbit app on your Android device and to be precise, press the account icon (looks like a credit card) on top of the screen on the right side and you will see a new page with the possibility under "devices" to add a device, press that and choose Versa. Good luck!!

Good News is that i logged in to an old  fitbit account which had this versa showing up somehow.

I was even able to upgrade the firmware and the watch is alive now

But the problem is that its not syncing

Last sync it shows few days back

When i click on the Sync Now button it comes up with an Exclamation mark and there is no message showing up

Should i remove this versa from this account and then map it again?

No, first try restarting the Versa 4-5 times in a rowby pressing the left and right lower buttons together untill the Fitbit logo appears and release the buttons. If that does not solve the syncing problem, try this:

1. First of all do not remove or unpair your Versa from the Fitbit app on your phone.

2. Deinstall the Fitbit app

3. Restart your phone and wait for a few a secs

4. Reinstall the Fitbit app and, of course, enable BT

5. Sync your Versa with the Fitbit app on your phone and see if that has solved your problem.

Good luck!!

Hello @Preet03, welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Thanks for all your help @SunsetRunner. Smiley Happy

@Preet03 I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. I would like to thank you for letting us know you were able to set up your Versa. Now, if you're having trouble syncing it and you have already tried the troubleshooting steps provided by @SunsetRunner I would like to suggest you the following:

  • Make sure the latest version of the Fitbit app is installed on your phone.
  • The software on your mobile device is up to date. To check, tap Settings > General > Software Update.
  • Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around as they might interfere with the syncing process
  • Check that your Fitbit device's battery isn't critically low.

If your device still won't sync, try these steps:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
  3. Open the Fitbit app.
  4. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart your phone again.
  5. Open the Fitbit app.
  6. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart it one more time.
  7. If your Fitbit device won't sync after the restart, log in to your Fitbit account on a different phone, tablet, or computer and try to sync.
  8. If your Fitbit device still doesn’t sync, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your mobile device and try to sync.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.
