Versa 2 Alexa timezone Problem/Bug?

Hi.

So I've bought a Versa in Canada so I could use the Alexa feature in my home country of the Netherlands, since it's not available here. It works perfectly fine as long I set my location to Canada (on the fitbit app: fitbit>account>advanced settings>location), so that's not the problem.

The problem is that when I ask the watch to set my alarm at, say, 11 pm, it sets it to 5 pm... meaning, it offsets the time to Toronto time (6 hours time difference), where I bought it.

I tried to fix this by setting my location to Germany or France (2 countries Alexa is available in) and it works... except you need to speak in German or French to it! I could try England or Ireland, but then there's still one hour of offset for when I set my alarm.

My question is, how can I solve this? Because this would mean that when anyone with this versa 2 and Alexa, traveling abroad to a different time-zone, sets their alarm by voice, it will always get the alarm set to the home time zone, not the local one. I'm sure this can't be the intention... or is this an up till now unresoved bug?

Hi @krisveldhuizen.

What happens if you change your location to Germany, but then go into the Alexa tile under your account and change the language under "talk to Alexa in"?

That was it! Thanks again. I'm happy with this as it is, but maybe you can help with a minor issue that has resulted from this;

I've set it to German with speaking language to English... the only thing is now that the prompts (like "ask a question" or "wake up!" after your alarm expires) are now in German. Same for French of course if I set it to French). Also, apps, such as Weather ("Wetter") and "Alarms ("Alarme") are in German now, as is the day of the week on my clockface. Is there some way to JUST have the location set to either country, but otherwise have the watch use English for everything else?

First of all I would start by restarting your Versa 2 by pressing and holding the button for 10 seconds, then sync again to see if this updates the language.

If not you can log into fitbit.com and then your Web dashboard, the settings cog on the right hand side and then settings. What country and languages are set in there? You can try playing around with them, but I'm not sure if doing so will put you back at square one again. If you do change anything in here, make sure to sync your fitbit again with your phone for the settings to take effect.

Excellent, we got there in the end 😁 Which part sorted it? The restart or the web settings language?

Sorry, just saw your question now. The web settings language did the trick. Thanks so much again!
