Versa 2 - INCORRECT distance calculation

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

1) I counted 111steps over 100m measured against Strava GPS giving a stride length of 90cm.

2) I walked 1km measured by Strava GPS but my Fitbit calculated I'd walked 830m.

3) The fitbit said I taken 1164 over that 1km. 1164 x 90cm = 1047.6m

And the walk was away from trees and buildings to improve GPS accuracy.

I've done this 3 times today and each time the Versa calculated distance is way less than GPS distance (and even when the Versa is connected to the Fitbit app GPS tracker).

This is clearly a bug

A couple of thoughts @ejhh

1: When you counted 111 steps, how many steps did the tracker count?

2: This is saying that you want to increase the stride by 1.2

3: A 1KM walk with 1164 steps would be a stride of 86 cm not 90.

Please note that most people's stride will vary from day to day and often throughout the walk.

The longer the test walk is, the more accurate the stride will be.
