Versa 2, Inaccurate heart rate

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

After the latest update, my Versa 2 isn’t reading my heart rate accurately while I workout. The heart rate reading fluctuates over 10bpm in a second. It will go down 10bmp then go up 15bmp and then back down 10bmp in a matter of 2 seconds. The reading is all over the place. Before I updated it to the latest version it worked perfectly.

Hello @GenesisG, welcome back to the Fitbit Community forums.

Thank you for sharing that you've been having trouble with your Versa 2 watch.

Before considering other options, I would recommend performing a restart and to follow all the instructions in this article to improve the accuracy of heart rate information, this has been useful to other users who have experienced something similar.

Please keep me posted.

I’ve restarted, factory reset, and turned on and off the heart rate monitor. I’m wearing it the way it says to. It was working great prior to the update.

It’s become a fairly common complaints since the update. I’ve contacted support directly and a “ticket” has been opened, though I suggested it’s really not an issue with my device but rather some sort of bug from the update, given that I’ve seen at least 30 different posts with this same issue — not counting all the replies to those posts.

Agreed. It hasn’t been working since the last software update. Between this inaccurate heartbeat, especially resting, and it not syncing, I can’t trust any of the information. Might be time to switch to another tracker.

My Versa 2 hasn't read my HR or sleep or activity since December.  Is it the update or the Versa?

That sounds like it might be your Versa and not an update.

Another workout, another frustratingly annoying experience.    I've tried all of the suggested fixes factory resetting a few times, too boot.

My Versa 2 is always about 20-30 bpm lower than is should be during any activity and it's inconsistent to say the least.   Doesn't matter where I place it on my wrist or how tight/loose it is.  Doesn't matter if I wear it on the underside of my wrist (though that is a little better).     But ... get this...  so my heart is pounding and the BPM is registering at +/- 92 bpm...  shake my wrist vigorously for a few seconds and the BPM jumps to 140, 150...  and stays there!   eventually it comes back down again??     I'm Sitting in a chair slapping my fitbit arm to the beat of the music: 154 BPM!.    Get up and go for a BRISK walk (where my heart really IS beating at about 140): 100 BPM or less.    OH, and this is all after doing yet another factory reset.

Now it occurs to me that, via fitbit measures, drummers must be the fittest people in the world!

I've been dealing with this for almost two months (with this versa - I won't get in to the problems I had with my previous Versa).  If there is no improvement within the next two weeks I am going to replace this glorified step counter with something else - and I will go on a crusade against the Fitbits!

I have been having the same problem and inaccurate RHR. Any input on what you are going to switch to?

@Bettyjoz  - contact fitbit support.  As the moderator DavideFitbit mentioned above, they are handling these issues on a case by case basis.  In all likelihood, once you jump through the standard troubleshooting hoops, you'll be offered a replacement option.

In another forum board it has been established, anecdotally at least, that the issue is resolved by replacement of the watch.  It does not appear to be an issue with the hardware, but the software/firmware and the replacements come with the previous version.  There is no way to undo an update.  If you get a replacement, DO NOT UPDATE the firmware.

Many people have seen this issue as cause to jump ship and have moved to competing products - I cannot mention them as it would result in this post being removed...
