I've desperately wanted to like Fitbit products but I am continually disappointed. However, I love the sleep analysis, which has me coming back.

 

A few questions which will decide whether I buy a Versa 2.

 

Swimming. Open water, obviously no connect GPS but will it record data on an open water swim?

 

Steps. I have a Garmin FR 945. My partner has a Charge 3. We get up in the morning, go through our routine and her Charge registers 50% or more steps. I've worn an Apple Watch 4 and my own Fitbit Charge 3 and again the Fitbit steps are way higher that the Apple Watch. I do not trust Fitbit step recording. Please convince me that the Fitbit is accurate.

 

Multiple Fitbits. This is a massive negative. When I bought the Charge 3, I had an Ionic on my account. The Charge 3 has to replace the Ionic. Hundreds of people have posted about this and returned their Fitbit. Fitbit keeps saying that they are looking into this but it's nearly a year since the Charge 3 launch and still no resolution. Fitbit, you are not reacting to your users.

 

Please address these issues so that I can decide whether to purchase or not.

Excellent post. Waiting for Fitbit’s “copy and paste” reply. As for step count the charge 3 is highly inaccurate and way over counts steps. It is set way too sensitive to arm movement. Garmin tend to slightly undercount steps as does Withings (I’ve owned them all) but their counts are closer to reality.

Thanks Jon, it's good to hear from a like thinker. I'm pretty impressed with Withings, in particular their App. I have the scales and the sleep mat. I wasn't too animated about the HR Steel as, like the Versa, it is a connected GPS. I am just about to trial Apple Watch with the Withings eco system connected via Apple Health. Thanks again.

After 5 months of buying VERSA 2. My watch hangs up every night after i put it up in sleep mode. It takes me an hour with about 20 or 25 trials to get it back on the the normal mode (switch off sleep mode). In the normal mode too the notification pops up but its very tough to get any touch response from the watch. 

 

I have switched the watch on n off several times but the problem still persists. 

Im extremely dissapointed with the fitbit versa 2.
