Versa 2 SLEEP mode notification problem

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

In Versa 1 in Settings you can disable notification when you are asleep and Versa 1 automatically determines when you are sleeping and disables all notifications.
In Versa 2 you need to setup your sleeping hours, there is no option to disable it automatically. But if you, for example, have two shift job, you cant setup sleeping hours, because they are different depending on the day. There is Only one way to activate sleep mode - manually, but it very easy to forget to switch it back. Also when I activate on my phone(iphone X, ios13) a sleep mode - I still receive notifications on my watch.
I don’t understand why fitbit removed previous options. Now I feel completely uncomfortable to enable/disable sleep mode every time when I go to sleep, even if I want to nap 1hour.

Are you sure? I'm not aware of Versa 1 time asleep having any interaction with any other function.   Can you tell how you set that, or reference any instructions or documentation on it?

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Versa 1:

Settings -> Notification -> During Sleep(on/off). Once you setup “off” you will not get any notification when you asleep.
in Versa 2 there is no such option anymore.

Looks like fitbit decide to downgrade smart part of their new device.

I am so disappointed in Fitbit with the Versa 2.. thought it was an upgrade but honestly felt like a downgrade! Don;t even talk about the charger.. but seriously it sucks that they now want us to manually set our watch to sleep mode. This option has been there since Charge HR (what I had) and now in the latest model, it's completely gone. This made me think, it Versa 2 can't even know when we are sleeping, does that mean the sleep insight will be completely off and unreliable?? I will talk to support and see what they say, might go back to Versa 1 if they can't assist as I don;t have a usual sleep time and not comfortable to manually start sleep mode. Sometime I am so tired that I just need to sleep.

I contacted support earlier, they confirmed that the Versa 2 should automatically detect sleep and turn off notification. They asked me to reboot the watch by pressing and holding the button for about 10secs and also referred to this link: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1314/?q=sleep&l=en_US&fs=Search&pn=1#howdoesmy

I will try again tonight and get back to them if it still doesn't work.

So support got back to me:

--"We're sorry but our higher level of support confirmed that the Versa 2 does not automatically disable notifications even though it detects that you are already sleeping. We sincerely apologize for the confusion.

Moreover, we confirmed that the "Do not disturb" and "Sleep mode" features on the Versa 2 are the counter part of the "During sleep" option of Versa. With that, turning on these features is the best we can recommend in order to avoid receiving notifications on your watch while sleeping.

We're constantly striving to improve Fitbit products and services, and we very much appreciate all of the input we receive from our customers. The more votes the post regarding this in the community gets, the more chances it will have to be reviewed by our product specialist and may be consider in our future product improvements."--

I replied to them with a very long and not too happy email. Just don't understand what was going on with the dev team to remove this option.

Anyway, I have also started a new feature suggest, although this is more like "put back what you have stolen from us" request. You can vote if you would like to see Fitbit do something about this.

I turned on sleep mode under my settings on my watch and now it won't let me back into that to turn it on. Not happy with this one at all!!!!

My daughter's versa 2 will track even if she takes a short nap, they tell me go into the settings and change sleep sensitivity,  and I don't have that option either, and that was from fitbit, I'm lost lol
