Does anyone know how to use the Spotify app during running the work out apps? It seems like I have to back out of my workout to change songs with the Spotify app. I don’t want to use the workaround of the built-in music program just want to use the Spotify app. Thank you

Wow! Talk about disappointment and feeling misled! Spotify was also big item to me when I chose Versa 2. Lack of controls during exercise tracking seems truly ridiculous.
Loading songs to media player gives me flashbacks about those portable mp3-players I used to have. So when did we return to 2008?

This really annoyed me but I saw a post in Reddit which explained a solution. Not just to using Spotify during exercise but also in altering the volume.
Put your phone Bluetooth in pairing mode. Then go to the settings on your versa 2 and scroll down and select "Bluetooth". Scroll to the bottom of this menu (there are only 2 options) and set the "restore music controls" setting to pair. Then in your phone's Bluetooth settings "versa 2 (classic)" should appear. Click on that. That has now paired your phone as the device the versa takes all music from rather than from local storage.
Now you can either set your left button to music controls for when you're running, or you can go into the quick menu and click the music icon there. The Fitbit will then control music from your phone without leaving the exercise app. I've just tried it and I can confirm it works.

I've found a solution to this. I'm just posting it here so hopefully more people will see it.

Mine is Charge 4. I could not find these options that you mentioned...

These instructions are only for a versa 2. I'm sorry, I don't know how to sort this on a charge 4

Why would you advertise Spotify if I have no access to it while using run or workout apps? Please fix this, very unhappy. Too much money for something below basic.

If you search for my earlier comment you'll find a solution which works and allows you to control music and volume while exercising.

Hello, you already replied me about it. Mine is a Charge4, not a Versa. Thanks.

After speaking to Fitbit support, there is no way to use both apps. They did advise us to continue to post here in hopes that Fitbit will respond. I have screenshots of the conversation. I also became very aware that using terms such as taking any legislative action may get your comment deleted. I wonder why ? Is it because we were hoping to have control of our music while working out? As the association created through advertising lead us to believe? Who knows 😉

This is beyond ridiculous. Fitbit get off your butt and fix this with a software update. I can't imagine that it's a hardware issue.

the same thing happens with the Charge4, I had come to this forum hoping that Versa wouldn't have that issue but I guess that's not the case

I am able to control music on spotify using Iconic. Is this only a problem on Versa2?

Just came across this thread today as it’s my first time trying to use the Versa 2 to control Spotify while in a workout. Not sure if this is now working due to Fitbit actually fixing the issue but this is how I got it working. On the watch I selected
Settings > Left Button > Music Control.
My Spotify can now be controlled by long pressing the Left Button while in a workout. I hope this works for others.

I bought a Versa 3 for this very reason and didn’t even think to look it up since I thought it would not only be standard, but virtually the only real reason to have Spotify on the watch. It’s been sitting in my drawer since. Switching to an Apple Watch.

Confirmo, sí funciona! Apliqué lo mismo para mi fitbit Sense y sí funciona! Importante: desde "control de música", no desde Spotify.
Conectar "sense connect" por bluetooth con el celular y listo!
