Versa 2 battery is draining quickly and it won't update

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Versa 2 will not hold a charge and have gone thru the suggestions and help steps in previous chats
I cannot update the tracker, nor will it wipe the data to start fresh. I get an error message with a red x

Beyond frustrated and seriously considering moving to another watch brand. Husband isn't as happy either...

I can't get mine to hold a charge either. It worked perfectly fine charging until Saturday, and it won't even last 12 hours on a full charge now before it is dead. I'm sure it is related to the new product release, so I'm thinking of an Android watch instead!

Hi there, @Jholt7379. Thanks for stopping by in the Community Forums. @Mstroh715 Welcome on board! We‘re taking your comments and sentiments in regards to our products into consideration.

For the battery issues, please note your Versa 2 battery should last up to 6 days. However, as with other electronic devices, the battery will depend on the features and how often they're used, such as the GPS, Spotify app or the Always-On display. While this doesn't mean that you shouldn't use them, please take into into consideration the conditions that impact your watch's battery.

That being said, I'd recommend to change the clock face to one designed by Fitbit and please confirm if you've followed the tips and recommendations to maximize your watch's battery life described here.

@Jholt7379 As for your Fitbit device not updating, may I know what the error message says exactly? In the meantime, please see Why can't I update my Fitbit device?

Hope that helps.

I have updated the Fitbit to the suggestions by the Fitbit support group  and still doesn't stay charged past a day

It tells me it couldn't remove the data and gives me a red X

I click update tracker and update tracker comes back later in the day

Sync all day isn't an option in the app, so that isn't the issue. Versa2 doesn't have GPS....so many of the suggestions are not helpful

I changed the clock face.  Still have to change every day

My clock face has been the boring one.

Staying charged is the issue but app says to update tracker all the time

@Jholt7379 Thanks for the photo attached and the additional details provided in your posts.

Please note the message "Data not cleared, Sync & Try again" usually appears when you performed a factory reset without first unpairing your watch from your phone's Bluetooth settings.

With that being said, please confirm if you've followed the steps below to solve this issue:

  • Unpair your Versa 2 from your phone's Bluetooth.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Set up your Versa 2 again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa 2.

If you can't get started with your Versa 2, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

Once your Versa 2 is running back again, please keep an eye on the battery's behavior and let me know if it keeps draining.

Hi there, @DebbieIV. Welcome on board. Thanks for letting me know that you've already changed the clock face on your Fitbit device. However, in order for me to properly assist you, may you please provide me with more details of the issue you're having? Is it a battery issue? Looking forward to hearing from you!

I have tried all of these and still have the Red X
I am done with my Fitbit Versa2
I will switch to a watch with better support. This watch is only staying charged for 24 hrs ANDNothing is working.
No referral from this family since the husband was already ready to make this move

Red X is gone

The update never completes or updates, so the app still shows its availability.

I am not sure what's up, but the battery lasts 24 hours & update doesn't complete.

I just completed reading thru posts and sad to see how many folks with this issue but no resolution.
