My Versa 2 has been working well for over 3 yrs until I upgraded to the latest firmware a few weeks ago. Since then, the battery that used to last 4-5 days barely survives 10 hrs. Is someone else suffering from the same issue ?
I've filed a case ID with fitbit customer service and followed the trouble shooting steps (drain to 0%, charge to 100%, then restart ... and repeat twice), but that hasn't made a difference. This is starting to feel like Fitbit/ Google forcing premature hardware obsolescence with a 'nefariously designed' firmware. Fitbit now says they will revert with 'warranty options available', which seems to be a thinly veiled pretext of saying - 'Your watch is old, sorry it's not covered under warranty anymore ... yes, we've bricked it with our firmware but we won't let you roll back to the earlier firmware, so just buy a new one'. Hope Google remembers not to be evil .... will post updates here.

Yeah, mine is doing exactly that now.
Fitbit should allow a rollback. I for one shall never buy or recommend fitbit ever again.
One of my colleagues bought a cheap smartwatch, less than 100e and it does more than the versa two. She goes open water swimming and her tracker has built in GPS and measures just about every inch she swims, unlike the versa 2 that thinks I'm doing laps....
---
It most certainly has nothing to do with Bluetooth connection. I turn my phone off every night, this darn watch is still drained in the morning.
---
Exactly the version I'm on, battery is draining at 5% ph...
Utterly ridiculous. It worked fine before the update.....

My versa 2 is doing the same, turning on and off and discharged. Now on charge and not taking the charge but blinking on and off. This is my second one first died getting water logged. At this point I just want my money back

Hi @Oo_am_i - if you used it in water it may also have suffered.
Check it doesn't get hot when charging and if so stop immediately.
If the only thing that displays is the Fitbit logo for a short time you won't be able to factory reset it to confirm it is a hardware problem.
Btw, it may be charging but because of the fault you can't see if it is.
You can always chat via the Fitbit App, click profile photo, Help & support, Contact Customer support.

Same issue here as well. For about a week now my battery that that would hold a charge for 4-6 days, now barely makes it a day. I’ve rebooted twice, the first reboot helped for about 48 hours and second reboot did nothing. I’ve been with fitbit for years, but thinking of making a change.

I have the same issue as you, for about a week now.

Is this still working for you? I did this when we initially had this problem and got 4 days -- for one charge cycle. Now it's back to 3 days or less.

I’m as well one more victim from the new update Guy… you should stop telling people (it’s a fault or moisture problems), it’s obvious the new firmware messed up many versa/fitbit users including my self. Shame on you Fitbit if you don’t fix this issue soon.

I came here to say the same thing. The loss of battery life is dramatic and erratic -- sometimes I will get 3 days (not the previous 6) but today, less than 24 hours. There has been no damage to the watch and no change in settings. Google/Fitbit broke something and won't own up to it.

They said the same thing to me! Then they said send it back and AFTER they get it and inspect it they will send me a replacement. I've been with them over 5 yrs. I've had problems before and they sent out a new one and then I had so many days to return the damaged one. WHY don't they do that now? Now I have to be without it while I send a damaged one back first!! Fitbit really sucks now!!! They just Don't care!!

Mine too. I’m not sure it’s the battery. It just seems to be on all the time since the last update.

@srco14 and @thewildasparagu this is a copy and paste of a comment of mine on another thread about this same issue - horrible battery life. It applies here as well.
(Yes, I have) Went through all of the recommended steps. More than once. It is a fitbit update issue. It is a programming issue on their side. It's not user error. It's not damage. It's nothing on my end. A fitbit doesn't instantly go from working flawlessly to suddenly barely working. Especially when there is no change in my wearing behavior. I could see a slow decline. I could see if I dropped it 10 floors. I could see if it was ran over by a car. I could see if I dropped it in a vat of hot oil. None of that has happened.
It is an unjustice to those of us faithful to fitbit, who suddenly woke up one day with our devices not working properly, not staying charged properly, etc. It's unbelievable how we are being blamed when there's so many of us complaining. It's disturbing that instead of fixing these "bugs" that they caused, we're just expected to go out and spend $200+ for a new tracker. We've lost faith in the brand. So, so, so many users are commenting that they're buying anything BUT a fitbit tracker. That in itself should speak volumes. That alone should make them realize that they have a problem and need to fix it.

Yes, That happened to me, once updated battery last less than 5 hours. How can we go back to the old firmware?
---
How can we go back to the previous working firmware? New firmware drains the battery in less than a day.
