Versa 2 won't charge

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My versa two ran out of battery and will not turn on. When i try and plug it in, it briefly displays the fitbit logo then nothing. I've left it on the charger for hours at a time, overnight, and nothing is making it turn on. I've tried multiple outlets in case that is the problem, but I do not have a second charger for it. The charging ports are clean on both the watch and charger. I've had this model for a while, but not long enough for it to have become obsolete already.

Hi @JennFith - try using a PC as power source and note the connect/disconnect sounds.

If it repeatedly does that the watch may be faulty and shutdown because of a fault, such as after getting wet, or battery failure.

If it gets hot while charging stop immediately.

Hi there, @JennFith. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your new Versa 2 is still unresponsive. I understand your concern, we're here to help you!

Have you tried what @Guy_ suggested?

As our last resort, I'd recommend performing a factory reset on your Versa 2. Important: Take into consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account and your applications, alarms, etc.

With the above being said, please sync your Versa 2 and then, proceed with the steps below in the order listed:

  1. Hold the back button for about 8 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears:
    1. Release the button briefly (for less than 2 seconds).
    2. Hold the button again until you feel a second, longer vibration, which indicates you initiated the factory reset.

You can follow the steps to set up the device after that: How do I set up my Fitbit device?

I currently have the same problem. This is super frustrating, I believe that the new update had something to do with mine.

Mine won't charge either started today.  Sorry I do not have a solution.  I hope someone has one.  I tried a bunch of different outlets that work fine with other devices.

Its kinda tricky to do the reset sequence with the right way....took me over half hour to get it !!! Tho you must have the app installed to see if it scans and can find the smartwatch. if app can find it and you can see at least the logo at your watch with the reset function it will be back and maybe start an update when is back. after all that you can conifg and start working again ! cheers

With the above being said, please sync your Versa 2 and then, proceed with the steps below in the order listed:
