Hi @IdaMarieBj - firstly restart the watch; swipe the face left, click Settings, at the bottom About, at the bottom Shutdown. Wait 10 seconds then place on the charger to restart it and charge it.
Once the watch is started, pull the top edge down to see notifications and pull down again and click on the 2 white bars to get to the Quick Settings menu, Disable Sleep and Do not disturb and enable the wrist action which makes the display come on when you raise you arm to look at it, then you neither need tap it or push the button.
After the restart the button may work. if not probably best to contact Fitbit Support directly.
Also reachable via the Fitbit App, click profile photo, Help & Support, Contact Customer Support.
