Versa 2 charging cradle issues

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The cradle has the cord coming out of the bottom the cradle. Can not lay flat on flat surface. Called tech support and they said that is the design. I looked on FITBIT page and the charger pictured in accessories has the cable coming out of the back. Anyone else have issues with this?

Same thoughts, absolutely terrible design. Who would have thought to have it come out the bottom of the cradle, it makes it want to tip on its side or over completely. I guess we'll have to wait for somebody to design a dock of some sort to hold the cradle, more money 😏

That's the way it is designed.   If it bothers you enough, you can find plenty of other third-party chargers on Amazon at reasonable prices.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

versa 2 was not

I completely agree, why the heck did they change the charger so it doesn't sit flat?  The cable comes straight out of the bottom which is the dumbest design ever.

And I have callled twice and they said that is the design.. They suggested
I post to new features request blog which I refuse to so... Someone
eventually will come out with a off brand solution. I hope.

The third party chargers are not available for the Versa 2.  The ones on Amazon of for the Versa and Versa Lite.  The charging pins are reversed for the Versa 2 and do not work well.

As for the original chargers for the Versa 2, there is a clip under the cradle and next to the wire, We could bend the wire so as to flatten out the sitting position of the charger.

That does not work. Tried it... The design is poor.. I know there is no off
brand solution yet.

In reality, BEWARE of third-party chargers that advertise that they work with the Versa 2 -- I have already seen some, and they all say that they will work with both the Versa and the Versa 2.  As any of us who have tried already know, the Versa 2 and the original Versa docks are 100% incompatible.  So, be careful when searching for a proper Versa 2 charging dock -- "if it looks like an original Versa dock," it very most likely won't work.  And if the seller states that it will work with both devices, it absolutely will not.

I returned my Versa 2 over this stupid, miserable piece of garbage dock, and with further news of Fitbit's financial demise, I'm currently looking at other alternatives -- larger companies with far better designs, including features such as wireless charging, and watch bands that can be easily installed.

if the watch vibrates ( alarms / calls) when charging, it will falls on the watch face. it happens to me but luckily I had anti slip mat underneath the watch.

it would crack the screen if it vibrates on the watch face against a normal wood or metal table

"The third party chargers are not available for the Versa 2"

Don't forget, Versa2 was brand new at that time you wrote this.

I bought two third party charger with 90° Degree cable, especially for Versa 2, right now (at Am****), which will arrive until Friday. Most annoying thing was to filter all these "not for Versa 2" descriptions.

Agree the design makes no sense.  Even worse, why design so that charging cradles for the original Versa don't work?  I have the original Versa and was considering the Versa 2, but I have three cradles for it (one by my bed, one in the car, and one in my travel bag), and I don't want to replace them all.

So little thought seems to go into these aspects of Fitbit products.

Just want to echo what everyone else here says.  How can the charger design be so poor?  I thought that mine had the bottom missing!  The packaging design team did such a good job, unboxing was a DELIGHT! Maybe they should be doing the charger as well lol!  If anyone finds a nice 3rd party charger I hope they post it here.

I also that mine was missing a part for the bottom of the charger! Such a poorly functional  and impractical design,  it really just looks unfinished.
